The Searchers (1956)
PostQuote from porfle: “Here's a YouTube video I made a while back about THE SEARCHERS: Modern Vehicle Blooper in "THE SEARCHERS" (1956) ” It's almost as if the vehicle stops to watch the action in its distance (what we are focusing on, as the movie viewer)!

The Mrs. and I are still around, though not as frequently (I am working full-time, with a 3+ hour total commute for the day).

Quote from Kevin: “Quote from Colorado Bob: “I'm not really sure exactly where to post this, but since it concern's John Wayne's 1936 film, The Oregon Trail, I figure here might be good place. I came across this article today from BBC news magazine. It's a good read, and the article contains a couple of links to clips of John Wayne interviews (including part of the Parkinson interview from 1974). All I can say regarding the article is, What A Find! Here's the URL: bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-2440745…

PostA little late to this conversation, but I think we would be interested, simply based on the few pieces of art you have shared here. Really glad to hear it is without aliens!

I love the ability to sort in the different categories! How long did it take you to amass all that information and create the chart? Very useful and informative.

I know when that poll was first put up, our son was also too young (like smokey's). He is 21 now and I think he would consider himself a John Wayne fan still. Maybe it IS time to update the poll. I know I was in a different age bracket back in 2003. Maybe an idea to make the poll more "timeless" would be to put brackets of birth years instead of age brackets. My birth YEAR won't change over time, but certainly my age bracket will.

Annie Laurie (1927)
PostQuote from Alvaro: “Elly, I am interested in obtaining a copy of "Annie Lauruie" Can you help me?. My email es acastellonc@hotmail.com Thanks in advance, and also for being a John Wayna fan too, as I have been all my life, Álvaro ” Elly hasn't been active here for a few years, so please don't take it personally if you don't hear back from her. Wonderful lady, VERY knowledgeable especially about Duke's older pictures.

Welcome, Alvaro! You are not alone, in viewing Duke as a father figure - so many have over the decades! I think it's interesting that you list Tall in the Saddle among some of your first John Wayne films. We discovered it after having seem many of his films, and almost immediately it ranked among our favorites. But not as many as have seen that one as some of his better-known movies.
