  • Hi all,

Clyde, I've read Harry's book more than once,
and enjoy it more and more, please pass on
my best wishes to him and his family.

Are the "Tales From The Set" series available on DVD?

    Emmanuel.

  • Hello Emmanuel & Brick,

I will let Dobe know. Thanks for the kind words. "Tales From The Set" is not on DVD. We made it so you & all fans would enjoy for Free.

Also, I had the honor of going over to Ireland meeting Lord Killain (he was a partner with John Ford) and visiting the Quiet Man Cottage. You can see a short film at http://www.quietmancottage.com

I plan to do alot more about the Cottage and the Quiet Man.

    Best to you both,
    Clyde

  • Hi Robbie

I think Young Billy (who as the narrator says this was his first criminal act) is killed by the cook or a ranch hand in the raid.

Harry's character is Pop Dawson who I think I remember rode with either Jesse James or Hole in the Wall gang. I have to say it took a couple of viewings to realise Harry was under all that dirt/makeup.

    Clyde,

I think it is wonderful that it is available to enjoy for free. But I must say, once folks have watched it, they may want to own it on DVD. I hope you will consider the possibility.

Our best to Mr. Carey and his family (and of course, to you, too!).

  • Hi all,

Clyde, I would just to thank Harry and yourself for
sharing those little insights about Richard Widmark.

    Emmanuel.

  • Hi all,

I was down with a cold a few days ago and took
some time of work. I started to re-read Dan Ford's
book about John Ford. After a day or so I started
to watch the movie that was in that particular chapter
of the book. I started with "Stagecoach", followed by
"The Long Voyage Home" "They Were Expendable"
Then after reading the chapter in which Harry tells about
the making of "3 Godfathers" in which He made his "debut."
I watched that movie as well. Then last night I watched his
other "debut" in Howard Hawks "Red River"

    Emmanuel.

  • Hi all,

Clyde, Thank you for the new segment,
and please thank Harry for sharing his
    wonderful memories with us.

    Emmanuel.
