  • All around locally are gone, and finally the only surviving one in Philly is gone. The reason I say finally is that it was turned into a porn drive -in. It had a 20 ft high fence around it, but kids could still see the large screen from buildings.
Up state in Titusville is where the first drive-in in the US was built. I saw it a little 8 car setup. They also are known for one of the first oil fields.

  • The only drive-in around me is about 75 miles north in the N Georgia mountains called "Swan Drive-In Theatre" http://www.swan-drive-in.com/ I first saw several movies there as a kid in the late 70's & early 80's. Watched Smokey and the Bandit + Star Wars in the back of my uncle's pickup. Great memories.

  • The Malletts Bay Drive in. It's about a mile from my house. Celebrated 60 years in business awhile back! I think its the only one left in Vermont. Even has a playground for the kiddies. Packed all summer long! Very popular up here!
