  • Sheila Terry, was a lovely blond actor
and made just 3 films with Duke:-

'Neath the Arizona Skies (1934) .... Clara Moore
    Lawless Frontier (1934) .... Ruby
Haunted Gold (1932) .... Janet Carter

    Sheila Terry, remains a mystery,
as she appeared, and went, within a decade.
She was one of a handful of leading ladies,
    who had chemistry, with Duke.

  • not to be critical, but this seems to be a pretty obscur "pal" if you know what I mean. There are others that fall into the same group, I think.

Perhaps if YOU contributed a little more to the board,
we would have more 'RELEVANT' discussion,

Many of our members, are interested in the older films and co-stars.
Are you suggesting threads like 'On the Day',
'Three Word Story', 'How's the Weather?' are also obscure?

The sole purpose, of this forum and 'Movie Reviews'
is to make the JWMB, the place for all the information.
Instead of having to go back, on the internet,
all relevant information, is readily available here.

If you take a look at the Main Welcome page of this web-site,

    JWayne.com- Home Page

Perhaps you think the administrator mis-guided too!!

  • Ethan,

    Sorry to make you mad.

It seems you contribute so much theres not much left for anybody else.
one meaning of obscure is relatively unknown, not prominent or famous. I got that in the dictionary. That has nothing to do with things like the weather or three word story, which are just fun things. On this day does have some obscure stuff, but it is all tiriva that has something to do with the Duke in some way, and it is only one topic, not a whole bunc. When there are so many, you still have to search for stuff.
I mostly read here, and between you and Chester, I can't keep up with it all. I just dont see the point in putting stuff about movies that are so old that no one can watch them because they cant get them anyewere. Whats to comment on, if you cant even watch it and you dnt know wahts it about?

I looked at teh link you showed and at least I know most of the names on that list, so thats why I dont think they are obscure.

I think some poeple are obscure but important becasue they are in so many films with John Wayne, Jack Pennick is a good case becasue he was in like 20 films with JohnWayne. You see his face alot and wonder who he is, so I was glad when you posted about him.

    So thats all!

  • I watched her in Haunted Gold today, and thought she was good with JW . I had never heard of her either, so did a little reading on her and she had rather a sad later life.... Dying young at 47, from apparently a drugs overdose. She was poor and struggling at the end, no one claimed her after death and she was buried in Potter's Field....

Another promising starlet, who faded from the skies, and then fell on hard times.....

Found a nice photo which I wanted to add, remembering her at her brightest....
