    Trivia
    Often played villains.

He died in the arms of his brother Wallace Beery, on Wallace's birthday.

At the time of his death, he had been vacationing and had been scheduled to appear that night on the radio show 'Barnacle Bill' with Wallace and his daughter Carol Ann. Despite Noah's death, the show went on, Wallace and Carol Ann playing their parts as planned, and another actor brought in to take over Noah's role.

Since his father's name was also Noah Beery, he was technically Noah Beery Jr., and his son was Noah Beery III.

Father of actor Noah Beery Jr., grandfather of Bucklind Beery.

    Half-brother of actor Wallace Beery

    Brother of actor William Beery.

Beery's wife also appeared in silent films.

    Mini Biography
Respected character actor of the silent and early sound period, specializing in cruel villains. The son of a Kansas City policeman, he and his younger brother Wallace Beery both left home in their teens, each seeking a career as a performer. Noah made his stage debut at the age of 16 and worked steadily in the theatre until his early 30s. Following his brother into films, he quickly established himself as a competent player and a familiar heavy in all sorts of films, particularly westerns. He never achieved the great fame of his younger brother, but succeeded in carving a memorable niche for himself in the history of film. His son Noah Beery Jr. became equally familiar as a character actor, though usually in more genial roles.
    IMDb mini-biography by Jim Beaver

    Mini Biography-2
    from Leonard Maltin's Movie Encyclopedia:
The older brother of Wallace Beery began his film career in 1917, after nearly 20 years on the stage, and was almost from the first typed as a screen heavy. His craggy features and broad, swaggering manner made him a perfect bad guy in The Mark of Zorro, The Sea Wolf (both 1920), Wild Horse Mesa, The Coming of Amos (both 1925), Beau Geste (1926, as Lejaune), and Noah's Ark (1929), to name a very few. The advent of talking pictures added another dimension to Beery's screen perfidy; his rich, booming bass voice barked orders at cowering henchmen, snarled threats at intrepid heroes, chortled lasciviously at captured heroines. He occasionally worked for major studios, but the bulk of his sound films were B Westerns, serials, and thrillers produced by the independent companies. Beery's notable talkies include Riders of the Purple Sage (1931), To the Last Man (1933), David Harum (1934), Bad Man of Brimstone (1938), Mexicali Rose (1939), The Tulsa Kid (1940, as a William S. Hart-styled "good bad man"), and Outlaws of Pine Ridge (1942).
