    Mini Biography
    Morgan was very severely injured and nearly died
    while performing a stunt
    during the shooting of How the West Was Won (1962).
    During the filming of a gunfight that takes place on a moving railroad flatcar loaded with logs,
    one of the chains that held the logs snapped, and Morgan was crushed by the falling timber.
    It took him five years to recover from his injuries.
    His wife, actress Yvonne De Carlo, put her career on hold in order to nurse him back to health.


    As a stuntman, Robert Morgan met actress Yvonne DeCarlo
    on the set of "Shotgun", on November 21, 1955.
    They had two sons, Bruce and Michael.
    Morgan also had a daughter, Bari, from a previous marriage.
    Morgan's left leg had to be amputated after he was run over by a train
    while doing stunt work on "How the West Was Won" (1962).
    However, his contract with MGM assumed no responsibility for the accident.
    De Carlo and Morgan filed a $1.4 million lawsuit against the studio,
    claiming her husband was permanently disabled.
    They divorced in June 1974.

    had a dreadful accident his left leg had to be amputated after he was run over by a train
    while doing stunt work on How the West Was Won (1962)


    Duke used him and his wife whenever he could
    as to keep the two financially stable, following the accident.
    Bob, who was a friend of Duke's, became a member of the
    John Wayne Stock Company
    3 of which he made for Duke's productions.

    the Morgan's financial straits, he insisted on giving Yvonne DeCarlo
    a well-paying role.
