  • I completed all the English text regarding my crowdfunding project! If you visit the project page, you'll find the button to activate the English version at the top right, next to my profile picture.. I hope some of you will find the time and support the film - the DVD/Blu-ray you'll get in return will be Region 0 (codefree) and bilingual.. (German/English). Independent, guerilla film making cinema needs you... index.php

  • Dear friends and fellow film fans, I just started a crowdfunding project to help restore and release my 1999 feature film PENDECHOS! (former title: ROADRUNNER). This gangster - roadmovie was shot on Super-16mm and was the very first project I ever did, therefore it is very dear to my heart. It was inspired by a meeting with US filmmaker Robert Rodriguez who had told me how he had produced his EL MARIACHI for some $7,000.-. It was quite an adventure and everything I learned I used shortly afterwa…

  • Today is a sad day, because the father of cinema fantasy has left this world. Ray Harryhausen died today. He lived a rich life and enriched the lifes of countless cinema lovers and film makers. I was lucky to have known him, years ago he ha...d invited me and Christiane to a wonderful evening at his house. Over the years we had exchanged letters which resulted in discussing a possible project. It wasn't meant to be but the memories will never fade away. index.php

  • Quote from The Tennesseean: “Yes. That is Pilar. The caption under the pic leaves a LOT to be desired. ” And on the right is Henry Hathaway. GREAT photos. Say, do you have any with Duke & Steve McQueen? I have only two (Golden Globes 1967)

  • Oh yes, I am Well I started collecting on Duke in 1980, I was 13 then. RIO BRAVO & HATARI! (along with VALANCE, SEARCHERS) have always been my favorites. Even until today the films he made not dominated (totally) by him are my favorites. He was best with Ford, Hawks, Hathaway. Later on it was really 'his' show only. Not that I do not like those other films, they are entertaining (but not much more besides most of the time). I like everything he is in (well almost. BARBARIAN, BLOOD ALLEY and cert…

Hi Keith, well, being busy & sick (sometimes both). Published my first book in the UK / US last winter, STEVE McQUEEN - THE ACTOR AND HIS FILMS. Co-produced a UK Blu-ray for CROSS OF IRON, wrote a screenplay... The daughter of the producer who hired me for that screnplay lives near (HATARI!) Momella Game Lodge in Tansania! Small world again. Guess I posted this stuff already in my poster thread then, sorry about polluting this one here, I'll stop and won't post the posters now (see: Mikes Memora…

  • Still one of my Top 5 Wayne Films. Top 3 actually RIO BRAVO being another one you can guess that I'm very much into Howard Hawks. I love Africa, so there came the right film. In the 50s/60s wild game was always treated as 'extras' in the ss-called 'Safari - films', but in HATARI! animals as well as the landscape is a real part of the story and the emotions the film manages to bring across. I guess Jim McBride once pointed out during a Hawks interview how much he liked the relationships and the b…

  • I guess some here might be interested in my new book I co-authored with Andrew Antoniades : STEVE McQUEEN – THE ACTOR AND HIS FILMS. Over the last few years a lot of new books on McQueen had been published, but all only about certain aspects of his life, no definitive volume on his films. We tried to fill that gap (check the back cover for more information). It will be available (USA / UK) from November 2011. 492 pages, hardcover with dust jacket, 5 pounds weight. 1020 illustrations: 790 photos …

  • Quote from ethanedwards: “Quite correct” Ah, I have to check my old tapes again. I have some 2 hours of rare clips and HARVARD is probably right before PARKINSON.

  • I guess I have a clip somewhere. I think he was there while filming BRANNIGAN in London. It was very funny. As I recall joking about his toupet (''It is hair. Not my hair but it is hair..'') and stuff.

  • My excuse is I just love lc's, stills and posters, especially because they come from that time... So it's a nice link to the time. Knowing that the stuff was around or displayed before Armstrong landed on the moon (or even before Jets were invented :)). I also run a small business with my memorabilia (check my eBay store, JUNIORMIKE is my ID) and already financed three films with it. I'm providing a lot of memorabilia for DVD releases too, 'also writing DVD booklets etc. My only problem is I wan…

Questions are always welcome of course. I'll start with the war films: index.php index.php index.php index.php index.php index.php index.php index.php index.php

  • Can you change that to 41? MANY THANKS!

  • Both our team and England will be more concentrated on Sunday... - and we will win, our young team needs some success they can look back upon the next months

  • I felt very sorry for Green the other day. Awful thing to happen to anyone, yet alone to an English keeper 'hope he'll recover real soon... Can't say our team dissappointed me in any way today. Very good game indeed. 'sorry Australia, 15 strong minutes is not enough

  • Well over here tensions start to build up It's the time (every other two years) when Germany is as close as it can get to Argentina, Italy or Brasil.. moodwise. We have a young team (the youngest since 1934), but we're a tournament team. Everything's possible Nobody here was rally happy about the Ballack incident, but it looks like other teams are following us with bad luck (Robben, Drogba, Ferdinand, Pirlo - VIVA MEXICO -). In 1990 the final was held on my birthday - and we won (I hope no more …
