News of the World with Tom Hanks. I really enjoyed this one. More story driven than action, though there is some of that.

The Amazon TV Series ‘The English’. A first-rate cast, and described in a review as “a rare, sensational masterpiece”. As a story of, amongst other things, revenge, it has been compared to ‘The Searchers’. I confess I found it disappointing.
I am taping it from the BBC and when I have all the episodes (six I believe) I will bingewatch it when I have time. I have heard good reviews though but I will wait untill I watch it.

Just caught Wagons East on TV. John Candy's last film. It's a farce and very silly but technically still a western I think.
I have binged watched Billie The Kid. Not bad at all. Wonder if there will be another series as he was riding out into the sunset at the end of the last episode.

Last night, I watched my all time favorite movie; "True Grit!" The John Wayne version of course! Last week I watched the 2010 version; I like it too, but the original will always be my favorite!
The original is one of my favorites as well.
As a young man many moons ago after watching True Grit,
I saddled a young Standardbred that my dad had just purchased from a farm down the road, and took off out into the field, reigns in my teeth and rifle in hand.
My first shot spooked the animal pretty bad and things went south quick.
Upon recovering from being almost stomped to death, my father ( after adjusting my stupid thinking and gaining his full attention ),
"insisted" that I do nothing regarding horses and firearms together without conferring with him first.
I started working with that horse , and eventually got to where I could run my trap line with him and even did some varmint shootin while mounted.
Took quite a while though.
"The Comancheros!" This has to be one of the most FUN John Wayne Westerns!
It's basically a "buddy cop" movie, but with an old west setting! One of my favorites!
