That western is terrific!!The chemistry between the four brothers is perfect.Michael Anderson Jr.'s acting is remarkable as the younger brother.George Kennedy as an abominable gunslinger is very badass.Martha Hyer is a bit distant but she is very beautiful.Only Dennis Hopper's presence is soulless.John Wayne is in high standards as usual. What I love most in the movie is the emotional cinematography and the outstanding gunfight scenes where confirms that Henry Hathaway was a professional director. It is very easy included in my ten faves Duke's movies and not only.
A solid 9/10 from me.

I always loved the line Duke says to the Sheriff at Katie's grave, "You're trying awful hard not to tell me something." I also agree with you in that I think Michael Anderson was great as the youngest Elder. While not usually in my top ten, it is high on the list.

Love the movie too, but I always felt Anderson over-acted horrendously.
