A good action-war flick I like very much.It has some very realistic and violent scenes as well.Except the Duke I like the characters of MSG Muldoon (Aldo Ray) and SFC "Doc" McGee (Raymond St. Jacques).Never understand the bad criticism about that movie. It shows how a few soldiers can work as a team (the most important thing in a unit) with the local people trying to avoid the enemy's dangerous traps. Also as a ''propaganda'' film it takes it a bit further with some violent scenes and that is right for me cause we are talking for the real side of war.
That's a cool picture I found in the net (unfortunately I don't remember the owner-creator) of a Col. Mike Kirby figure.

Thanasis - "The Green Berets" was a much better movie than the critics were willing to admit. There was a wealth of character actors Duke rounded up for this movie including Jason Evers, (the guy shaking hands with Duke in the second picture above) , David Janssen, Jim Hutton and others who had not worked with Wayne before. Much has been made of the sun setting in the wrong direction in the final scene, but the movie, to me at least, was very enjoyable.

I think Vietnam has a little west side.If I am right then it isn't a striking goof.
I like the job they have done for the ''tropical'' villages.Very realistic.
Only some airspace takes of the forests doesn't make sense. It is an enjoyable movie as you said my friend.

I love the cast, hate the script, like the battle scenes, hate the cliches, and dislike kidnapping of the general portion. Not one of my faves.
