Here's a new one for my collection -- it's got some damage on the picture but it's still a nice one.

I'm not sure if this has been posted before or not so apologies if it has been. An interesting detail about this photo is that you can definitely see that Ben Johnson is the galloping cavalryman in the lower left of the photo!

Finally had a chance to sit down and watch this on Blu-Ray after purchasing it months back. That's what renovating your basement does to your viewing habits. All i can say is... HOLY COW! What an incredible picture!! The colors were so eye popping, it almost felt like the movie was in 3D. The movie looks like it was shot last week! This should definitely get some awards as one of the finest restorations for this year. I was completely blown away. If only all movies could look like this. Then again other films today are not made by John Ford.

I was curious on how the picture was on the new disc. I haven't had a chance to watch it.

Watched this again last night. I think of that Cavalry trilogy, this is my favorite. Not that the others are lacking in any way. I just love the characterizations and the story so well. It's such a feel good movie. So many good laughs, nice moments of reflection, and quite honestly the Duke was getting some practice becoming "older" for that next chapter in his career where his charm jumped up about ten notches. Plus i love seeing those blue and yellow cavalry uniforms so crisp and clear on blu-ray. My grand son can already hum the title theme.

I believe this film EASILY ranks as my most watched John Wayne film of all time (even above True Grit and The Searchers) . There is an ease and grace to those characters that just hits me in all the right places. I have the DVD and Blu Ray version. I have a beautiful theatrical poster in my office and I have BOTH Sideshow figures of Captain Brittles. I wish there were more merchandise from this film. For me it's a crime.

The week of Thanksgiving is when I traditionally start putting in my John Wayne movies for heavy viewing. The day of Thanksgiving, "Yellow Ribbon" is a staple movie playing in our home.
