    • Hi Arthur,
      Thanks, no offence taken.
      However, working for yourself,
      does indeed, have its advantages,
and as luck as it, I take January off,
so I have already compiled all the reviews,
and all I need to do now, is post them, regularly,
      untill mission, completed.

      Thanks again, for your support,

      Best Wishes,

You know Arthur, it's taking me hours and hours to do these reviews,
there is so much work involved!

At least, Keith, the salary that Kevin pays us is pretty good!

      Hi Sue,
Thanks, and it can be difficult.
However, 9 times out of 10, it's OK!
I also source from the New York Times, and other sites,
particularly, if IMDb, don't include a biography.
As you say no one is a complete knowledge on Duke,
and we learn day by day.
We were not around, at the time, so we have to rely
on the written word, all be it IMDb, NYT, or say
      John Wayne:American, or whatever.

When writing my own pieces, I use up to 12 books,
and pick pieces out of them.
It takes, up lots of time, but if the end result, encourages
members to post, and enter discussion, then the project is worthwhile,
just look at some of the members names, recently,
      that have suddenly popped up!!

      Update

      Hi,
Just to keep everyone in the picture!!!so to speak,
I now have only 10 films to review,
and I'd like to thank everyone for their support and comments.

In compiling these reviews and 'Pals of the Saddle',
it's not just the case of copying stuff, it's not that easy, or simple.
The articles, have to be edited, highlighted,
and placed in the forum, in an appealing, and easy-to-read format,
otherwise, it would be repetitive and un-readable!

In IMDb, Yahoo, and the New York Times, the sub-sections have to be
opened, so that the extra information can be extracted,
otherwise, Full cast, stunts, Trivia, etc, would be overlooked!
Sometimes IMDb, doesn't have a Biog, particularly for the older movie stars,
and therefore this information, has to sourced elsewhere.
I use up to 12 books, and quotes, that are included, are cross referenced,
      across them all.

Mr and Mr. Chester mentioned, about the earlier movies.
In most cases, I have a copy, but if I don't,
I ask if anyone has got or seen the film.

No single one of us is a complete knowledge of Duke,
and all our information, has to be sourced.
Mistakes can be made, and it's easy to make them,
but then that's what this forum is for, to discuss and comment.

Hopefully, we can strive, and trust that the information, is correct.
However, instead of just looking for the mistakes,
and nit-picking at the information, which is easy to do!!
Let us all, look at the total picture, and think,
we wouldn't be able to comment at all,
if this information wasn't posted, and made available!!

      Thanks for your support,
      Best Wishes
      Keith

    • Bravo, Keith! I can see from the overwhelming amount of information you have posted that there has been a lot of time and effort on your part devoted to compiling and correlating all of this. I, for one, have found a number of trivia items about Duke and related subjects that I was unaware of, so keep up the terrific work. Thank you.
      Cheers - Jay :D :D

    • Update

Well, I have finally completed the Movie Reviews,
having posted the very last one today.

The reviews total, 116 Movies, and 3 TV specials.
      27 were exlcuded.as Duke's Minor Roles.
It has taken many hours of work, to compile them,
from the sources that are available.

In compiling the Movie Reviews, it's not just the case of copying stuff,
it's not that easy, or simple.
The articles, have to be edited, highlighted,
and placed in the forum, in an appealing, and easy-to-read format,
otherwise, it would be repetitive and un-readable!
Photographs, have to be sourced, and linked.

In IMDb, Yahoo, and the New York Times, the sub-sections have to be
opened, so that the extra information can be extracted,
otherwise, full cast, stunts, Trivia, etc, would be overlooked!
Sometimes IMDb, doesn't have all the information,
so therefore this information, has to sourced elsewhere.
I used up to 12 books, and quotes, that are included, are cross referenced,
      across them all.

Many thanks to Kevin, for setting up the Forum,
and to Chester, Hondo and Arthur,
for all their support in this project.

      Thanks to all our members,
who have taken the time, to add their comments,
      and enter, into further discussion,
and I hope that this continues.

In effort to maintain interest in Duke's many films,
every weekend, I intend to select a couple of films
for us to discuss, throughout the week.
      However, trying to avoid ones,
which have been over discussed, over and over, in the past.
The reviews are there in the forum,
so anyone, at any time, can post on them.

For further interest, I have also where available,
added a photograph link on the Reviews.
      Just like this one,

      PHOTO

or subject to availability, something like this,

      PHOTO

Many thanks, and I hope you enjoy the reviews

      Now here's a little poser!!!
Apart from the movies listed, under the Minor Roles thread,
can anyone, find a film, I may have missed?????

It's worth a pint in Torquay for any friend, that finds one!!

    • Hi Keith,
Thank you for the great job you have done here. I decide not to read yet the topics about films that I ahven't seen yet, so I ahve much more reding for the future.
To join other members that offer you drinks, I can add that if you come to St.Petersburg, you will go away with a bottle of vodka, if you like it of course. :D
      Regards,
      Vera
    • Hi Chester, Mrs., Vera,
      These drinks are mighty tempting,
perhaps if we all manage to meet up at MV,
      I'll have them then.

A pint with Arthur, Tequila, with Jim and Sue,
      and Vodka, with Vera,
      God, this is sounding great!!!
and me, being a whiskey man, who cares!!!!
      Best Wishes
