  • Hi,

I have gone back through all the movies,
and in most films have been able to enter
    the Filming locations.

    They make interesting reading,
    and remarkable how many films
were made in so few locations.

The main locations are listed in the
Movie Forum, and with some of the major movies,
    I have highlighted the locations,
    as a separate post.

Hopefully this will go a long way,
    to answering questions, about
    certain locations

    Best Wishes

  • My brain and I have problems remembering movie and song titles. What was the name of Mr. Wayne's movie where his friend George (I believe) was at the claim site working the camp and Mr. Wayne had to go get his girlfriend and ended up bringing the french girl back with him on the boat? Then the mayhem was unleashed. I have always enjoyed that - he was very funny in that movie - and the young singer was his little brother. Good one.

    "I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on."

  • The young singer was Fabian. Very good movie, one to add to your collection if you don't have it.

ladybug, on a side note, welcome to the site. Glad to have you here. We all look forward to getting to know you alittle better.

Life is hard, its even harder when your stupid!!
    -John Wayne

  • Previous to compiling the Movie Review section,
new threads on the same films, were commenced, in some cases,
almost every day, which led to fragmentation.
Some movies for example, in various bit and pieces of threads,
ended up with a dozen or so threads, sometimes asking the same questions!
I notced The High And The Mighty, and The Alamo,
both had a dozen or more threads, all about those films!

I have now gone back to the beggining of time so to speak,
and merged all the various threads into one 'super' thread,
and now linked that thread into the opening page
    of the dedicated Movie review.

Hopefully this will tidy things up and eliminate
the need to search for previous earlier thread.

  • Just a quick HOWDY. I guess I will always see John Wayne TALL IN THE SADDLE> He made some great War Pictures, But with out his Stetson, and Horse. Probably everyone knows that only because he turned down the script to Dirty Harry. did he opt to make Brannigan and McQ. Still I like watching Rio Bravo, or True Grit. Even though I think he should have won an Oscar for the Sands of Iwo Jima and The Searchers. Adios my friends Until our trails cross.

    That'll Be the Day!

  • the only movies i really dont like that he made were the night riders, the hell fighters and wheel of fortunr [whatever it was called ]rooster cogburn wasnt a great story but hepburn and wayne-come on-magic,cahill is overlong but george kennedy, neville brand and duke interesting ,mq is too old but i still watch it and duke acting cool with the slang is hard to listen too but i still will watch it if its on tv,i wish him and dianna muldur had a better story and the actress playing his daughter should have been arested-branigan i saw ist run in theaters and maybe hes too old but not the worst film duke and dean wermer had good scenes together, the bar fights alittle too much but when he kicks in the door and says "knock, knock"it makes you believe in heroes, the worst duke film has something to offer you cant say that about most actors.i wish he"d made beau john

  • I am currently wading through all of the movie reviews and updating them!
It has been 4 to 5 years ago, when I started posting them,
and feel it time, with new information available, to bring the profiles into line.
It will include Cast/ Trivia/ Goofs/Filming Locations and Memorable Quotes.
I have already completed War Movies, and Duke's latter westerns.

IMDb has changed the look of their database and have done the same!

At the same time I have taken Duke's Movie Locations- The Studios,
and split it into the various studios,
as each one has an important part to play in Duke's career.
I felt this was lost, with them all grouped together.
It has also given the opportunity to dedicate Batjac it's own thread.

    Thanks for your support
