I doubt it, Keith. I'm about the only real political junkie on the board. In this thread, I spend most of my time talking to myself anyway. That's not much of a "social group", is it?

  • The sad facts Stumpy is many Americans only want a warm body in the whitehouse that is in no way connected with GW Bush. The republicans I think knew that and just ran McCain just to fill the requirement of having a warm body run against the democrats warm body.

A sad state of affairs when all Americans want is a warm body, brains not required.

  • I wonder how many pro-democrat liberal papers didn't print or carry this comic the day it was to appear in print.

Pro-democrat and liberal are redundant, Jeff. And since those terms describe almost all the newspapers in the United States, very few carried the cartoon.

  • I have a confession to make.

Before now, I've insisted that I would not vote next Tuesday because I figured McCain would carry Texas anyway (and I'm still sure he will).

I loathe John McCain almost as much as his opponent but after much soul searching, I've decided I'll vote for him in hopes that sufficient numbers vote against Obama so that his Majesty gets a very strong message that if he goes overboard with his far left policies, he's gonna encounter very strong resistance from those of us who don't buy his BS.

  • I love Danny Craig as Bond but if I ever hear he's a Obama supporter, I'll never view another of his movies. :stunned:

Well Stumpy, don't get your tickets early. Plus you may want to sell that Casino Royale movie on EBay......

  • i don t want to be seen to be making a flippant observation on what is a serious topic but i have noticed over the last few weeks that everytime obama is pictured he has his jacket off and his sleeves rolled up like he has just come from finishing the washing up in the kitchens or scrubbing out the bathroom or something
    - was this a deliberate ploy to make himself look hardworking man of the people? just cos over the last few days as he gets nearer to power, his shirt sleeves are rolled back down and the jacket is back on and he is posing with a more presidential look :vomit::vomit: don t know why he is winding me up so much as he s nothing to do with me, but he is :vomit:

I can't tell you how happy I am to to hear that, Stumpy. Like you, I am not particularly a fan of McCain, but I really do NOT want Obama in the White House. My vote in this election has always been a vote against Obama (although since the addition of Sarah Palin to the ticket, my vote is a little more enthusiastic). Since I think McCain has the best chance of beating him, that is the vote I will cast, but not because he is my first choice.

We're in total agreement on this, Jim. Another reason I've decided to vote McCain-Palin is that I want to encourage Sarah's possible future ambitions. In fact, I may even write-in Sarah's name for my presidential choice.

  • Miss him? It's been all downhill for Republicans since his departure from office. The two "Republican" presidents who came after him have, IMO, been total disasters and I see that others agree with me.
