Chiles usually always played dramatic roles. But there was one role he played that was just the opposite. In Dean Martins western spoof, Texas Across The River, he plays an Indian, the bumbling son of the chief, played by Michael Ansara. Did a pretty good job with all the slapstick he had to do.

Always thought Steve was under-rated. I enjoyed every time he showed up. Saw him in "Flaming Star" as Elvis' older brother and thought he stole the show. Don't forget he was in "The Longest Day" with Duke.
Vaya con Dios, Steve. We deal in lead, friend.

Another great one he was in was: Prisoner of War w/ Ronald Reagan, Spies Like Us w/ Chase and Akroyd-and I THINK he was in: Take the High Ground w/ Widmark, Malden and Russ Tamblyn.

RIP Steve. I did like him as a kid on S.W.A.T. Just the kind of show that was full of action for a kid like me in the 70's.

Tonight show drummer Eddie Shaughnessy dies,

RIP Eddie

God I loved the tonight show with Johnny Carson, just another reminder that those days are gone! RIP Eddie.

Eddie was such a wonderful drummer. I just loved the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, and the drumming from Eddie was classic. He did a solo one time back in the 70's that lasted over 5 minutes and Johnny just let him go for it. Being a drummer himself, he appreciated the skills he provided. It was classic. I was a preteen and just happen to catch it one night and was really impressed. I recalled Johnny say, "Now, that is a drummer and Eddie is the man!" It was soooooo coooooool! I never forgot his name, well his first name anyway.
RIP Eddie
