    Goofs
At Mitla, Colby shows Julie a hole, indicating that it was a place for offerings to the gods, including human sacrifices. In central America, cenotes (or sinkholes) were used by the native population as water sources and also were used for offerings of human sacrifices and objects. However there are no cenotes at Mitla.

  • Plunder of the Sun was to be the first of Glen Ford's two picture deal with Duke,
    Hondo being the second.
However Ford hated working with the often 'callous', John Farrow,
and refused to play the lead part in the second film.
Of course rather than delay the shooting of Hondo
Duke stepped in, to play the lead part.

Warner Brothers wanted Duke to star but he quite rightly pointed out.
that he wasn’t suited for the role and recommended Glenn Ford instead
(which turned out to be an excellent suggestion).

The movie is a 1949 novel by David F. Dodge about a hunt for ancient Peruvian treasure.
It was made into a 1953 movie of the same name, and relocated to Mexico.

Andrew V. McLaglen, was learning his skills with Duke,
and was once again Second Unit Director/ Assistant Director

  • Hi Keith

I have a copy of this and a few other JW productions - ashamed to say I have only watched track of the cat.

think I got them to complete my JW collection rather than to view them

LOL like as if it can ever be complete!

Be who you are & say what you feel Because those who mind dont matter & those who matter dont mind
