    Plot Summary
    Heading west for his health, Colonel Lambeth takes his daughter Rill along. Lost on the desert they are saved by Pecos and Chito. The Colonel hires the two and the Lambeths soon find themselves mixed up in Pecos' trouble. Pecos has killed Sawtelle's brother and Sawtelle as head of the vigilantes is after him.

    Character error
    When Rill gets up from under the wagon after the gun battle, she uses the gun to assist her, pushing its barrel into the mud. Pecos puts the gun back into its holster without cleaning it when it is returned to him.


    Continuity
    Suzanne, the maid, is seen on the seat of the wagon when it gets to the river. However, when Pecos arms Colonel Lambeth and Rill prior to the gun battle, she has disappeared

  • West of the Pecos is a 1945 American Western film directed by
    Edward Killy and starring Robert Mitchum and Barbara Hale.


    The movie is the second film version of Zane Grey's novel, previously made in 1934 starring Richard Dix.
    It is no relation to the 1922 silent film of the same name.


    Release
    The film was popular and earned $151,000 in profits.
    It was Mitchum's final job before his service in the army.
