The scenery in "North to Alaska" is beautiful. One of my favorite lines from the movie is when John Wayne and Capucine are sitting in the wagon after arriving at the cabin. He's trying to figure out a way to tell George, (played by the wonderful actor, Stewart Granger) his partner and best friend that he was unable to bring George's fiancee' Jenny, back to him and why. He's pondering the situation, talking out loud and at the same time, speaking to Capucine:
"Well, I've done the best I can. . . . I just gotta face him . . . . I think I'll just lie to him."
The lines were simple, however just watch his face - his expressions are priceless. In fact, if you carefully watch his face throughout his movies, you'll notice just the slightest facial movements, very subtle and never over acted, just the gentlest of reactions and expressions. Ah . . . . . what a man!
John Wayne sticks his feet in concrete to replace the footprints Lucy and Ethel stole from Grauman's Chinese Theatre. If he doesn't, Lucy worries that she'll go to jail. Fortunately, Wayne's a good sport and will be glad to come to the Ricardos' hotel suite for foot-dipping duty. But with Lucy on the loose, it won't be easy duty.
