I think most of this was in a book I read. I don't believe Ford was on the beach at D-day. He was on a cruiser at first and then got on a Pt boat,
which came under fire several times from the shore based guns.
Ford definitely was a big factor in war combat film. He also
had shrapnel hit him at Midway, he was wounded.
I think Duke should have been put in raising morale, not a private.
However Duke's war pictures did raise U.S. morale, I am comfortable
