Does anyone know when John Wayne began wearing glasses? I have only seen photographs of him wearing glasses after his retirement from acting.

Good question. I have read a lot of books about Duke, and I don't ever recall any of them covering his wearing of glasses. Maybe someone else may know.

It was because Wayne's eyes were shining so much during the dinner scene. Contact lenses were made from glass when the film was made in 1964.dukefan1 wrote:
