well....i ve read all the criticisms of the film on here but i enjoyed it. it was just the kind of film i like, duke on an adventure. no other distractions just duke all the way through doing what he does best, being a hero. loved it

The Man From Laramie with James Stewart and also including Jack Elam - good story
-
Winchester 73
-
two rode together - was on tv yesterday afternoon

Wandering Star by Lee Marvin - I remember it being no 1 and our family loved it. Now when I hear it, I love it but it always makes me want to cry at the same time. There is something poignant and lonely and sad and beautiful about it all at the same time.

Dirty Harry - can see why Duke was offered it and can see why he turned it down. enjoyed it though

didnt like this film the first time i saw it but watched it again last night and really enjoyed it. can t understand why i didnt like it the first time. it has some really funny lines in it.
for example when the dentist givews him a shot and tells him he wouldnt have to do it if he d been a better actor and "if you hear a loud noise it ll just be mr ketchum dying." also, "we promised you in a trade. we didnt say what condition you d be in."
kind of classic john wayne. straight forward and good fun. -
at least scotland always go out with dignity. i say we should sack them all and bring in the under 21s. and i think jt, lampard and co should be booed at every away ground in the country this season.

the worst thing for me, apart from englands dismal performance, was the sound of those vuvuzalas drowning everything out. highlights for me were ghanas performances and germany beating argentina. but overall not much to remember

More than likely to save money and to make use of actual war footage. Also Otto's toy boat sequence aka battle sequence would have looked worse if that is possible in colour.
Thanks DukePilgrim - like i say, it didn t spoil my enjoyment but just curious. -
the octapus has predicted a german victory today and a spain victory tomorrow
why am i listening to an octapus! -
does anyone know why this was filmed in black and white - didn t spoil my enjoyment of the film but as it was made in 1965 was there a particular reason for this?
-
if anybody has been following the octapus, he has tipped gernany to lose tonight!
-
with england and usa now out, who do people on here want to win? me, i want germany. what a fantastic team they have....and the way they tore argentina apart was magnificent. how about everyone else??
-
same here and hope everyone enjoyed the John Wayneathon!
