It is so cool that all these great actors are still with us It would be awesome to shake their hands and thank them for all the good memories they have left us with. When I think of all of the other great actors who have passed and forever alive and young in TV and DVD immortality we are so fortunate to be able to tune into TMC FMC or AMC and take a trip back in time to a better place. As Norma Desmond stated in Sunset Blvd. the stars never die they are timeless.

    SXViper,
I agree with you 100%. What was basically trying to say is that I have had hundreds if not thousands of dollars of DVD's ruined because if you don't baby them they are easily ruined especially when you have young children that like to watch them as much as I do and it is hard to watch them every second everyone needs to understand that they must be properly handled and put away with care and not laid on top of the player when a new one is put in. With a VHS tape you can kick it across the room and it will still play for years. My DVD collection is put away and out of little hands. So all I was talking about was just my personal opinion about DVD's VS VIDEO!

Stumpy: excuse the hell out of me you JACK ASS!
Thats my opinion from my experience's with DVD and video. And If you think I dont know what the hell im talking about think about its a fact!

Speaking of DVD's I can not stand them I covet my VHS John Wayne collection you look at a DVD wrong and its ruined and will not play or freeze up they are horrible! :headbonk:
With the VHS tapes you can beat the hell out of them and they still play I have the first release of the Shootist on VHS it is at least 10 years old that thing is as tough as the Duke :D! I do agree that the visual quality of a DVD is better and I would not want to watch a VHS tape on my 52" high Def TV however on a 32" or even on my 13" that I take camping with me and my trusty VCR the quality is excellent.
So in my opinion don't throw out those John Wayne VHS tapes they will be around allot longer than a DVD :uhuh2: !
If you do throw them out send em to me I will pay for shipping :headbonk:

    Chester7777,

That recipe was so good  !!!!!!!!!!!! My wife and I tracked down every ingediant by name that was mentioned(brand names)and made it as close as possible to the way John Wayne had it. I had it for dinner then breakfast and lunch :stunned:
I guess you could say I have issues :jump:
However that was without a doubt the best chili I ever had. Any more recipes you know of that John Wayne liked? Thanks Chester7777!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In 1978 I was seven and I can still remember watching SUPERMAN at the drive-in.
Unfortunately I know little about him other than his SUPERMAN roles. It is always sad to hear about anyone who dies. Life is short ENJOY it. Rest in peace SUPERMAN! :(

    Greeting's all,
I am from the West Coast Long Beach California in Los Angeles County. A great place for a John Wayne fanatic like myself as I have the great privilege of going to the same restaurants, clubs, bars and other locations that John Wayne used to frequent I am only 20 miles from his home town Newport Beach, CA. I take Pacific Coast Highway all the way(i'm sure everyone feals real sorry for me). Everywhere he has been has some sort of memorabilia and I sometimes get to hear great stories about him. There is a sports bar in Newport called NBBC Newport Beach Brewing Company they have a micro brewery and brew a special award wining Stout called John Wayne Imperial Stout I will attach a photo of a coaster from my collection. If you like Guiness you will really enjoy the John Wayne Stout I think its even better and I drink it by the bucketful! Anyway this is a truly awesome site I wish I would have found it sooner. :headbonk:

I am a fan due to the fact that there was nothing fake about him that person he portrayed on film was him in real life. He stood for everything good and honest. Not like all these actors these days they are all CRAP! Like John Wayne said don't go to the movies unless you believe in the hero! And there are no heros left just a bunch of over payed over sexed spoiled little clowns. John Wayne is my hero!! :cowboy:
