:cowboy: Good afternoon Stumpy, Hondo, Arthur.

Stumpy, i'm exactly the same as you on liking so many of the big stars in the business. I cannot get enough of them. I noticed that they sure were a different breed than many of today's actors are. I never tire of watching their great films and I much much more than anything, choose them over what new movies that are made these days.

Hondo D.L., I never have seen Elmer Gantry but would liks to. I have seen To Kill A Mockingbird and liked it. I am also fond of MacKenna's Gold and oithers as well. Truthfully, I think my absolute favorite Peck film has to be a war movie. I think I choose Horatio Hornblower then The Guns Of Navarone then 12 O'Clock High and then Pork Chop Hill, though he gave his all in all of them. The only movie I did not liek seeing him in was The Boys From Brazil, which he did an excellent job in but I just did not like seeing him play the character he did. I also thought he was great in The Sea Wolves--which had Roger Moore, David Niven in it.

Arthur, I like Horatio Hornblower as my Nr 1 Gregory Peck film too. If ever a movie screamed out as needing a sequel, it was that movie. I do not think I ever heard of his movie, The Million pound Note. I'll have to look it up and read about it.

Stumpy, I saw The Big Country many years ago and remember liking it. I never hear of The Stalking Moon. It's another i'll need to research.

    Best regards-TRK.

:cowboy: Today is kinda neat day and another milestone conquored for me. I was kindly notified by Hondo D.L. that my Nr 200th post was the next one I would make. Well, im kinda surprised at how quickly I reached this number. I am looking forward to being an active member here for as long as you good people can stand me.

    With kind regards--TRK.

:cowboy: This morning on both AMC and TCM, at the same time, there were two Gregory Peck movies being played. 12 O'Clock High and Pork Chop Hill. That was a first for me at seeing ant two movies with the same lead actor in it played at the same time, except of course, for the Duke.

Anyone else here Gregory Peck fans?

Horatio Hornblower NEEDS to be released on DVD, I say.

:cowboy: Winchester '73 is my fav James Stewart Western. Those facial expressions he got in carious situations really was a work of art. I like the scene in which he fisrt gets into town having been forced into leaving his pistol at the Sheriff's Office and when he and Highpockets stepped into a Saloon for a drink. He almost instantly spots his brother Matthew McAdams a.k.a. "Dutch Henry Brown" at a table playing a game of Poker. They both make the motions for reaching for their guns forgetting that they are at the Sheriff's Office. I don't think Stewart could have done better in a western.

PS, I like his other westerns very much too. TRK.

:cowboy: Favorite Christmas song eh? For me its as hard as picking one John Wayne over the other as the most fav, but i'll try.

    Christmas Dream by Perry Como.

Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer by Gene Autry.

    Silver Bells (Any great rendition)

    Silent Night (Any great rendition)

Let It Snow (Any great rendition)

    TRK.

:cowboy: Hi and nice to meet you.

On your questions about Christmas with The Duke. I don't know if there will be a movie marathon of his films or not but you might want to take a look at the schedules on the following sites.

    American Movie Classics.

    Turner Classic Movies.

Also, I think either on Christmas Day or New Years, I know AMC will be playing a day long marathon of Da Boyz :D (The Three Stooges.) :newyear:

PS, i'd be OK with either a Duke marathon or a marathon of COMBAT.

:cowboy: Hi Stumpy, I can only wish I had a better job. The economy around here is not as good as it is in other areas of the country. Too many businesses are closing and people are losing their jobs with nothing to replace them with. I'm lucky in that I am able to scrape by month to month. I am guilty of buying something from time to time that I do not need but, what little I do spend on a non needed item, really would not change my situation enough to worry about. I am hopeful that 2005, will be better for all of us. $1000 is way out of my range for the time being. :newyear: Everytime I save money, something always happens and zip, there it went. Sorry if I sound if I am crying the blues, its not intended. I know things will improve at some point. When things are better--I definitely will get a computer. One other "toy" I would like to get is a portable DVD player. I know I don't need it either but, it would be nice to park near the waters edge and watch a movie too. ;)

Thank you for the nice wishes Hondo.

Viper, congrats on your passing a milestone as well.

    Best regards-TRK.

    Best regards TRK.

:cowboy: Hi Itdo, thanks for that ;)

I do know of one blooper I can think of off hand.

This was a scene where after the Mexican Cannorfire blew a hole through one of the walls. There was a scene where the Mexican Soldiers were racing through the hole, ther was some sort of straw-covered roof? they were running under--which was on fire. Anyway, it must have been a powerful windy day when they filmed that scene because the "bricks" were being blown away by the winds. One person running through the "debris" accidently kicked or slightly bumped his foot against one, and it rolled away like a Tumbleweed.

:cowboy: Tom Selleck would be my Nr 1 choice. I thought he was great in all The Sacketts movies he did as well as Quigley Down Under. Next choices would probably be James Garner, Kirk Douglas, Stacey Keach, David Carridine, Robert Carridine and Ernest Borgnine.

:cowboy: I always was told by my parents to look for that bus and never could spot it though that said they always did. Guess I will have to watch The Alamo for my Thanksgiving movie. I never knew where to look but now I will look for it behind the Chapel.
