There was a wall in Bob's home covered with personally autographed photos from performers with whom he worked. Is it known if the family is keeping those or sending them to auction?

Did any of you posters or viewers work as extras in "McLintock" at Old Tucson? Or in the" Father Murphy" TV Series? Or "The Quick and the Dead?" (filmed at Mescal). Or "The Desperado?" Would enjoy sharing stories and photos with you.

JohnChisum: "During a break in filming Wayne collected his Best Actor Oscar for True Grit (1969) from Barbra Streisand at The 42nd Annual Academy Awards (1970) (TV). When he returned, every member of the cast was wearing an eye patch - including his horse!"
If you like this kind of trivia, you might enjoy this first-hand account by Bob Shelton of how he arranged the eye-patch surprise for JW at Old Tucson. The story occurs near the end of this 7 minute interview with Shelton:

FarmerSteve: You are so right about some folks being afraid of mice but not snakes. Didn't mind this python at all (easily seen!) but a fast moving mouse would send me up the wall:

Wow! Welcome RoadSong66 from a former Chicago-an. Your family background experience with The Duke is so interesting. As newbies also we hope that you enjoy the JWMB as much as we do and that we'll hear from you often!

Thank you for the recipe sharing ... Chester and Mrs. C's quick-fix dishes look delicious as does Chilibill's version of John Wayne's favorite chili.
We've been using Lavish bread for a very low-fat, roll-up alternative to crust. Trader Joe's carries it. Can be used for pizza crust or bean/cheese roll-ups for crisping in the toaster oven. -
John Wayne Fan[/COLOR]: Lucky you to be seeing Maverick on Encore's "Western Channel". Looks like the only way to get copies of these episodes on DVD is with a DVR or burn a DVD from a videotape recording (VCR) as I do on my Mac.
ZS Maverick: (with sympathies regarding the hi-jacking of your name!)...We found the discontinued DVD (Warner Home Video, 2005) at our public library (free) and burned a copy (for our own use only, of course). The 3 episodes are "Shady Deal at Sunny Acres", "Pappy" and "Gunshy". Amazon.com has some copies also. -

Ooops! Just realized that a search might find Brisco & WWW fans and there was Phantomstranger listing them as # 1 and 2 on his all time favorite list. We love 'em, too!

Does anyone have comments on the short-lived "Brisco County Jr" TV series? Or "The Wild, Wild West" with Robert Conrad? These may not be in the Classic category but we thought they were entertaining in their own way. Arguably Ross Martin of WWW may have been one of the most talented character actors in TV at the time. And Bruce Campbell had that comic edge to his athletic role.
