thanks for the answer-i thought so because of his health and the altitude-one of the people doing the commentary on a dvd copy i bought at walmart said that he did but the shot shows him riding and then cuts to a long shot of horse and rider going over fence-it just seemed that it was roberson or whoever doing the stunt-ten years before i know he could have done that-the guys doing the commentary should know more then said-they didnt even talk about the guy playing tom chaney-he was in films for over 50 years and in 1969 was in a good scene in butch cassidy and the sundance kid as the freindly sheriff who tells them thier time is up- people on this site could do a better job. i have added so much info to my duke notes-thanks one and all

rio grande is such a great film-its relationships explored are fantastic-it just happens to be a western setting-made so they can make the quiet man for yates and republic-ford and wayne combine a love story, action, redemption, alittle comedy and music, unbelievable movie totally ignored by alot -ford gets the last laugh for this is a great film

does anyonw know if the john wayne filmography is any good the price is kinda steep and i would like to know if it includes the early years like noahs ark,the deciever etc.those not included in ricci book and if pictures are included??

what am i nominated for?i made no remarks on westward ho-i liked the scenery in the movie, the singing riders would be enough to scare me sraight! can anyone tell me exactly who dubbed jw voice in the singing years-glenn strange, ballew??riders of destiny the best who dubbed on that one-it kinda sounds like the duke if he could sing-id like to thank the academy for the nomination and my mom for taking me to see the green berets, big jake, rooster cogburn and branigan in the movie theaters

the only movies i really dont like that he made were the night riders, the hell fighters and wheel of fortunr [whatever it was called ]rooster cogburn wasnt a great story but hepburn and wayne-come on-magic,cahill is overlong but george kennedy, neville brand and duke interesting ,mq is too old but i still watch it and duke acting cool with the slang is hard to listen too but i still will watch it if its on tv,i wish him and dianna muldur had a better story and the actress playing his daughter should have been arested-branigan i saw ist run in theaters and maybe hes too old but not the worst film duke and dean wermer had good scenes together, the bar fights alittle too much but when he kicks in the door and says "knock, knock"it makes you believe in heroes, the worst duke film has something to offer you cant say that about most actors.i wish he"d made beau john

i cant help it this is one of my favorites-the scene at the begining with royal dano saying he intends to keep fighting dw says why?dano replies its our home or something like that duke says were all americans-dano"s responce is "yes sir, that always seemed to be the saddest part of it all"man that sums up the war for me-yes the plot of the ransom and thomas paying is so farfetched i have to look the other way-but maxinillian, the french ,jauristas and the cast make it interesting and duke and hudson are great together

this aired on channel 45 on saturday morning in baltimore md sometime in the mid 1970s it was the first time for me ever seeing one of his b-westerns so it holds a special place -thank god for stagecoach because republic was just wasting this great talent

this is one of the worst films ever made but still interesting-i wonder how many times james garfield has been portrayed on film-i dont like it much but im still going to keep my copy-john wayne is amazing that way
