Summer has arrived at last, for how long, don't know!
Finally here, 2 days of sunshine in the UK
Can finally bring out the cowboy shirts I bought in Arizona last month and put the winter jumpers away!
Let's hope it lasts.

Thanks guys,
Still getting the hang of this and will be commenting on and sticking my opinions into the mix more and more as I get going.
Glad I found this place!

Well, I'll have to get a CD player that plays Blu-Ray. Hondo is one of my favorite Duke movies. An enhanced version will likely drive me up the wall--in a nice way.
It's well worth it if you enjoy the Duke's films and watch them repeatedly.
The Rio Lobo transfer is fantastic, so much so that it actually added lots to the viewing pleasure. No mean feat as the film isn't one of the Duke's best.
Very interesting thread about the new Blu-ray of Hondo at Home Theater Forum.
Thanks Paula,
another great nugget of info.
I am looking forward to Hondo arriving even more so now!
Olive films still haven't listed Rio Grande or Johnny Guitar on their website yet, although they're all over Amazon etc, how strange is that.
What a wonderful typical old-fashioned indian-western movie! I have seen it many times and I still love it!
Today I watched Black Bart with Dan Duryea and Yvonne DeCarlo. This western was great fun to watch, it had love and romance, gunfighting and humor and fine horses!
White Feathers was really enjoyable and it was nice to see a very 'green' western rather than the deserts we are used to.
Never seen Black Bart but I'll hunt it down now, I've always liked Yvonne DeCarlo.
Sounds like a plan! Enjoy your Sunday!
Will do! Hondo should be on it's way pretty soon which will be, hopefully if they haven't bodged the remastering, a real treat!
WOW! Only 7 days! Did you pay extra for that speedy service Dooley?
Nope, standard delivery!
I ended up having to order from a marketplace seller on Amazon.com as Walmart don't ship outside the USA and couldn't find them for sale anywhere else. Looking forward to The Big Trail, think I'll watch Barbarian and the Geisha first as I think after The Big Trail it'll seem somewhat lacklustre!
I'm reading The Young Duke by Howard Kazanjian and Chris Enss for the first time and I'm loving it.
That's great to hear! I ordered my copy on Friday so am looking forward to it arriving soon.
I love it when new book orders arrive, it's like Christmas, or maybe that's because I'm still a big kid!
Goulding's now and then.
Harry and 'Mike' Goulding cicra 1950's
...and how it is today.
Ulzana's Raid.
Brutal, brilliant and unflinching Western starring Burt Lancaster.
The uncut version, not available in the UK, is the one to get for any UK visitors to the forum!
Followed by White Feather starring a very, very young Robert Wagner and beautiful Debra Paget. Much more Hollywood but enjoyable all the same.
I almost feel bad for admitting I really enjoyed this film after the awful reviews it's had in here.
No need to feel bad, I too really enjoyed it when I saw it recently! It'd be a boring place if we all liked the same things!
Also, welcome to the forum! I've only been here a while and it's a great place for Duke related info and general stuff. It's good natured and friendly which is refreshing.
My Walmart copies of The Big Trail and Barbarian and the Geisha arrived today.
Super speedy 7 days turnaround to the UK. My Sunday viewing has just been organized
Day of the Outlaw: Robert Ryan, Burl Ives.
Gritty and tense Western with some stunning cinematography of the bleak but beautiful location.
Brilliant film. Got it recently on DVD. Just proves how great a director John Ford was. Goes well with Young Mr. Lincoln.
Goulding's, Fort Apache. Then and now.
Screengrab from Bluray.com
Glad to see that little has changed.
My copy of Circus World on DVD came from Merry ole England! Took 3 weeks!
That's not too bad, got plenty of other Duke films to watch in the meantime. Still wading through the huge 34 film Universal box set!
Well i bought my copy of the Barbarian and the Geisha at Walmarts yesterday. Two discs inside, thats cool. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but i have to agree with Ringo, NOT impressed with these cheap cases.
It's quite a recent thing the 'Eco' cheap boxes made with thinner plastic. I tend to swap mine over with better quality ones, I bought a 100 a while back in one go so they end up pretty cheap and still going, I felt its worth it to protect the discs.
I'm hoping my copy of Barbarian and the Geisha won't take too long to make its way over the pond to the rainy UK. Anyone would think I'd never seen the film before!

Someone on Amazon UK was selling it but they're all gone now:

Wow that was quick, thanks so much!
I so knew someone here would have an answer. Trying to expand my John Ford film base and this is a great one.
Off to have a quick lesson in Danish!
Hi guys,
I've seen reviews online for Drums along the Mohawk on Blu ray, released in Denmark through soul media, had no luck locating a copy. Does anyone know if this has actually been released or if it's been shelved?
