    Best Wishes,

    Hi Vera,
    In answer to your question,
Arthur is right in pointing out, that if not for the LoneStar/Monogram
movies of the early days, most of which Robert North Bradbury directed,
Duke, could have been lost forever!!!
Those early films by the way, were:-

1933. RIDERS OF DESTINY- (Lone Star/Monogram)
1933. WEST OF THE DIVIDE- (LS/M)
    1934.-LUCKY TEXAN- (LS/M)
    1934. BLUE STEEL-(LS/M)
1934. THE MAN FROM UTAH- (LS/M)
    1934. THE STAR PACKER- (LS/M)
    1934. THE TRAIL BEYOND- (LS/M
    1934.-LAWLESS FRONTIER- (LS/M)
    1935. TEXAS TERROR- (LS/M)
    1935. RAINBOW VALLEY- (LS/M)
    1935. THE DAWN RIDER- (LS/M)
1935. WESTWOOD HO!- (Republic) First of new almalgamated company.
    1935. LAWLESS RANGE- (Republic)

    Hope this helps,
    Keith

    Hi Arthur and Vera,
Thanks for the posting on Ward Bond.
To add to this, it seemed that being in complete control
of Wagon Train, went to Wards head,
and unfortunately, his attiude of the big 'I am'
    rankled many people,

    Hi Arthur,
Seems like, if you were gonna be famous,
today was not the best day to be born!!
    However, on second thoughts,
at least you'd have got noticed!!

    Hi Arthur,
    I liked Luis Alberni,
He was in 170 odd films, including,
    playing that likeable Mexican rogue,
    in Duke's Warner Brothers,
THE BIG STAMPEDE, and THE MAN FROM MONTERY.

    Best Wishes,
    Keith

    Hi Arthur,
    Thanks for the post,
it was both interesting and absorbing.
I can imagine, Duke not being able to recite, the eulogy,
after all, he wasn't above any feelings, at a time like that!

    Hi Arthur,
WELCOME back, it sounds like you had a great holiday?
What a lovely suprise for you at the hotel!
I think those little things, make it so special.
I am sure you educated our Amigos and amigas,
all about the great man, El Duque!!
Perhaps if they watched el hombre grande,
they wouldn't bother chucking tomatoes, at each other.

    Best Wishes,
    Keith

    Hi,
All I know is that Woody was definitely a man,
there is no doubt about that!!
He was an athlete at UCLA and then a pro footballer.
As to Fords relationship with him, I've no idea,
but he and Duke nearly came to blows on the set of
LIBERTY VALACE, which may not have been a smart move for
    Duke!!
