    Was Kenneth Moore the chap who bashed the hood of the stalled jeep and it started up and drove off. It was just a little scene but stands out in my memory as a great part of the movie. Maybe it's because, not being a mechanic myself there have been times when giving an engine a good wack would sure feel good. i know one mechanic who will take a stubbornly malfunctioning part over to his bench, clamp it in a vise and wail on it with a sledgehammer. He says that it is so the rest of the engine tranny or whatever will take note of the future of any part that won't cooperate. I think it is for his own sanity and he doesn't get to work on anything I own. :fear2:

    Speaking of Dark Command it was the only picture out of Republic studios to receive Academy Award nominations ( for best Art Direction and best original Score)
    I wonder if anyone has read any feedback from JW or Roy Rogers regarding working together?

    Thanks for the info Arthur. I was enjoying Mr Fairbanks recently in Gunga Din, which I purchased. As for May 7th etc you have contributed an incredible amount of related information and being human should not focuss on any insignificant mistake. Although some would contest it even the Talmud Koran or Bible have been known to contain the odd unintentional slip. Thanks again. :)

    I have read that John Ford volunteered to do film work for the government during the war and that he once donated $300,000.00 to provide a rec centre for members of the unit he served with.
