Winchester 73. Man what a great Western.
-
Cant watch any Westerns till my new DvD player arrives by UPS--HOPEFULLY on Thursday.
-
Will have a look at those Garner movies Ringo thanks for the suggestions. Gave stagecoach another watch last night, one of Duke and Ford's best.
Hi Irish, you cant go wrong with any of them.
-
Roger Moore is my favourite Bond look forward to see him popping up in Maverick. I do believe it Stumpy and that's a great story, thanks for sharing!
Ditto on that for me too. I love Connery but-_Roger Moore seems to put more into his Bonds. I grew up watching both every time they came on.
-
Big fan of Garner here. I also suggest--besides The Great Escape--but: 36 Hours, Darbys Rangers, Duel At Diablo, Tank and Murphy's Romance. And I hate--99% of all romance movies.

ringo thats so cool to visit that location.i didnt know it was made in victorville thanks for the information.it's a great series.it's a pity that they only made 2 seaons it should have made more.
Oops, what I was meaning was that F Troop was made in Huachuaua Arizona, but that the Roy Rogers Museum was in Victorville, Calif ;-)) Sorry if I didnt post it easier. Oh and--Fort Courage still looks like today, what it looked like in 81. A friend fo mine on another site showed me some photos he took--which was when they visited it last year sometime--and still looked as I remembered. I THINK I still have a bumper sticker I bought there that said "Home of "F" Troop" Fort Courage, Arizona.
-
a few esp of f troop
I almost picked up the first season yesterday but--I got Rawhide instead. Also, back in 81, I visited Fort Courage. It was not complete when they used it in the series and most of it is till there-or was when we breezed through on our way to Victorville California.
-
I ahvent watched any lately because ive been converting several members who are on the Histomil and USMilitaria Forums--into watching Westerns--or more of them. Out of about 10 or so from both sites--I might be able to get a few to join in on the fun here.

Hope your bingo friend feels better soon Ringo
Thank you Irish--and me too. She has never missed this many days of Bingo in over 30 years. I think she is just waiting till her things get back in order because the right side of her face is sagging thanks to the stroke. She is telling em how good her therapy is going--and she has a great attitude. The bad thing is--she will not be returning to work--so is effectively retired and im HOPING the company she worked for--offered retirement.

Hi Carl
Ditto and then an episode of Gunsmoke, I'm not a great fan of Gunsmoke but it was a reasonable episode.
regards
Arthur
Hi Arthur and sorry I didnt see this before now. Im not ahuge fan of Gunsmoke either but--I think ill start collecting at least the earlier seasons-mainly the black and white ones. Though I watched many of the later seasons--those mostly did nto have the Marshal in them and heavily relied on Festus and that other guy--cant think of his name? but I cant stand him. Ive never seen any of the episodes that had Burt Reynolds or (cant think of his name at the moment--but was the one who later played: McCloud)
-
No idea!!, I have not deleted them
Hi Keith, I sent a more civil reply to your Pm and sorry im sounding difficult. Parltly is because the lady I go to Bingo wiht had a stroke and aint doing too well.
Anyway, the ones I was talking about were a bunch of images I have not seen available before of Rio Bravo-including the animated one.
I posted them but they disappeared.
Take care-_Carl.
-
Keith, where are the photos I posted in my Rio Bravo post yesterday?? and WHY--are they being deleted??!!!!!!!!!
-
Rio Bravo, when it was played on TCM.

Hi
Stirling Hayden's career was like the proverbial Curates Egg - good in parts.
Sudden with Sinatra was also quite a good film.
His war record was exemploray his politics iffy and he was a victim of the HUAC in the fiftiesRegards
Arthur
The above is what ive heard also--I heard he gave up his American Citizenship and moved to France because he liked to smoke Marijuana fags.
-
Hayden was very good in movies like: The Last Command, The Asphalt Jungle and Dr. Strangelove. Other than those--I havent seen him in anything but suspect he was good in others ;-))

Colt .45 w/ Randolph Scott & Alan Hale Sr.:
And: The Gun that Won the West w/ Dennis Morgan: -
The last 3 eps of season 1 of: Have Gun - Will Travel. I dont mind admitting that im addicted to that show now.
