Many of Mann's films where brutal, but it didn't turn me away from them to my own surprise.
Watched Colorado territory last night.

The Naked Spur - one of Ant.Manns and sure great one. James Stewart was great there too.
-
Watched Rawhide yesterday evening and like it.

The Man from Alamo, like this one, it is the second western I see of the same director, and both are very good. The first was 7 Man from Now.

I was only familiar with the TV show "Virginian", Art, and in it Trampas was one of the most likable characters. That why it was strange to me to see him as one of the bad guys in this movie. I'm not familiar with the 1929 film.
Really can't imagine him as a likable character, but it would be interesting to see different versions of the movie. May be they would be released here.
I received notification from internet store here about some westerns available - I haven't never seen. May be some of you can say something on this subject.
Captain Apache
High Plains Drifter
South of Heaven West of the Hell

Comancheros was shown at our TV last night.

Rio Lobo I bought DVD at last (had only VHS version before). Of course not the best of Hawks movies but very enjoyable anyway.
-
7 Man from now with the same plesure as the first time.

Received DVD with Randolph Scott westerns and watched them all evening. Colt 45, Tall Man Riding and Fort Worth. Very entertaining indeed.
-
Three Godfathers. Planned to watch it again for a long time when review was announced for this movie. I know it so well, but each time think again what a great masterpiece!
-
Friendly Persuasion, I'm not sure is it western at all, but I love it!

The Horse Soldiers - one of my top favorites.
-
Garden of Evil with Cooper and Wildmark. Good western, directed by Hathaway with beautiful Mexican scenary. I didn't know that mexica is that beautiful!
-
Rare Breed. I've seen it before, but enjoyed it again. I like this movie.
-
The Hanging Tree. Great western!
-
Distant Drums with Gary Cooper. Even if I always heard that it is very bad movie, it was qute entertaining and professionally directed by Ralf Walsh. But I found many similarities in the plot with Objective Birma. Birma is better, even if it is not historical accurate.

Oh, I'd like to see The Searchers someday in widescreen - it is my favorite movie.
This week I watched Lucky Texan in colorised version (it goes under the title Gold Strike River) - picked up DVD when I was in Finland. Find it very interesting. When I will go to Finland again this mounth I will buy other two of colorized restored old Duke features. Something fresh about them I feel. Haven't anybody seen them. At zone one they go all in one collection. And here in Eurobe in separate releases.
