Watched Stagecoach with audio commentary of Scott Eyman. I was much dissapointed by his book "John Ford. Complete films", with a lot great stills from the films but text not matching the photos. So I decided to see if my impression is right or not. The audio commentary is not bad, better when book, includes almost all from the book about Stagecoach but adding more. Only bad thing is that it seems he is reading written text and sometimes pretty fast, so I with my poor English afraid that I'm missing something. Had to hear it once more.
The commentary I really like is on teh Searchers by P.Bogdanovich. Great one.
After Stagecoach watched this documentary American Masters - really great!

That's my favorite Duke movie, Vera. I thought the ensemble of players in that film was just about perfect, especially Walter Brennan. Even Ricky Nelson wasn't all that bad.

Hi all,
Watched yesterday The Trail beyond and noticed that in the book The Complete Films of John Wayne by Ricci b Zmijewesky there is pretty uncorrect description of the plot. Looked for other early movies - the same thing. It is the imression that the autors never saw this movies themselvs!

Senta could you describe the story line in Abilene town, I do not own it but think I may have seen it before. Your collection of films is growing Senta, does your son watch and enjoy them with you or is he more into modern films?

Hi Murray,
Abilene Town is a randolf Scott western, he plays sheriff of the town standing on the last point of the cattle trail. There is a conflict between cowboys and homesteaders, who came to town. This is the main plot, but the movie in the whole is very nice and enjoyable. i even began to think that I must purchase Seven man from Now.
The collection is sure growing. My son watch with me some movies, but he is interested in mordern ones too. Last movies he watch (without me near) is Narnia and Godfather (the first film).Yesterday I watched Randy Rides Alone and Star Packer according to my plan.
