    In an early thread on the Great Americans I tongue in cheek (possibly a little bit serious) voiced the opinion that Wallace Simpson should be right up there among the greats because if she hadn't married Edward he would have been king and history might well have changed because as you said Edward was a Nazi sympathiser. If he had been king there would have been no Churchill no American involvement in the Second World War and how would the world look today.

    No arguement with you there he made some fantastic films many of which you have mentioned. I also like Carbine Williams, The Philidelphia Story, It's A Wonderful Life and so on - where do you stop.


    I hate to admit it but I haven't seen The Stratton Story this one has always by passed me by for some reason. Perhaps later.
