You should check out "The Lion in Winter" where Kate plays against Peter O'Toole. Great script, amazing sets and rousing score by John Barry. It's also the film that introduced Anthony Hopkins who plays Richard the Crusader.
True, it's not something that would normally appeal to Wayne fans, but give it a rent or wait for TCM to show it.
