I do not know if this will be any help or not but, here is a little picture story that I did for some Relatives that did a Biography on the Native American part of my family about 25 years ago.
Both of my Grandmothers were Southwestern Native Americans so that is what we call someone like me a Half-Breed or Breed. In the old Days My Grandmother that raised me would have a Fit if you said Half-Breed or Breed. But today it is not that bad because of the mixing of the Blood like Mexicans, Indians and Whites. After all Quanah Parker was a Half-Breed Also! :lol:
The little Picture Story is about Quanah Parker the Great Comanche Chief that Did the Poem that John Wayne quoted at the Funeral for Howard Hawks.
The Picture that is on the First Page of the Site Below Hangs in The Smithsonian Institution. This might give you a little more Info. and History on the Great Comanche Chief that wrote the Poem in the 1800s.
