Posts from chester7777 in thread „When Were You Born?“

    B-Spec, MKotyk24, and Big Duke,

Just wanted you all to know that you have been added to our "Rich Tapestry" of fans from around the world!

I also want to mention that I put spaces between the 'decades' just to make it a little easier to see the distribution. At this time, the 1960s is the most represented decade, followed by the '50s, and then the '40s.

As time goes on, we hope to be adding more numbers in the more recent decades.

    Chester :newyear:

Mike Yates (aka Silverfox), CountryGirl01, and vintagewayne, you have all been added to our evergrowing list of members! Thanks for sharing your info and making that possible.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to welcome Mike Yates to our group! We have quite a few members from Australia - we're glad to have you with us, and we hope you have a good time here!

May 29th 1958..that'll be the day!

You have been 'woven' into the Rich Tapestry of our membership!

    December 6th 1963.

In the year of The Beatles!

I was going to 'weave' you in too, Duke, but saw that it had already been done. Apparently, you already shared your birth year.

    Duke_Wayne b. 1963.

Apparently, I am also prone to those senior moments. I am the one that added you previously! :headbonk:

    Duke_Wayne,

Keith is a little busy these days, so I hope he won't mind that I have added you to our ever-growing list, or as we affectionately call it, our Rich Tapestry.

1963 seems to have all "Duke" user names! Interesting coincidence!

    Yojimbo28,

Welcome back! We're glad to see you got your feet wet with your first post, and we look forward to many more from you! I know Keith will be along soon to "weave you into the rich tapestry of JWMB members"!

    Chester :newyear:

No Idea, what you're talking about SMOKEY!!!!

SMOKEY? Didn't you mean Stony???

    Chester :newyear:

P.S. Thanks to all of you for adding your info so Keith can add you to our 'rich tapestry' of members worldwide, who are having fun together, thanks to our common interest in John Wayne!

And its all because of my friendship with what is apparently a long lost son of the "Duke", Duane, who has helped me greatly with my racing since I retired and he retired in 2007. Both of us worked at the same company. I was controller and he was a fabricator and welder in our shop but we had racing ties and those lead us to real friendship. A year or so before his death and the day after he got out of the hospital from having a heart attack, he and his wife drove to Las Vegas the day before Thanksgiving to be with me while I raced. That is real friendship!:teeth_smile:

I know I'm veering (ot)with this . . . but I'm confused. Who died? Who was in the hospital after having a heart attack?

    Duane is still alive, right?

P.S. Thanks, Keith, for continuing to update our ever-growing list! (See? I got it back on topic again  .)

Im 19 and watched my first John wayne movie last year. I became a fan and want to know more about him. Thanks

WELCOME to the Original John Wayne Message Board! If you want to know more about John Wayne, you have come to the right place, and you have a LOT of reading ahead of you . We have a fairly comprehensive site here, with numerous forums where you should be able to find the answer to almost any question you have.

We have several members in your general age range, so you are not alone.

BTW, what was that first movie you saw, that hooked you?

Chester :newyear: and the Mrs. :angel1:

I'm glad to see this thread is being revived, and I hope more of our newer members will chime in with their birth year.

Thanks, Keith, for keeping the thread updated as folks add their stats!

    Chester :newyear:

Just had to get my passport so I had to dig up my original birth certificate.
    10 weeks for the passport.

I hope you get that passport in 10 weeks. Our son allowed more than that, and two weeks before he was to leave, he still didn't have it. And two weeks out is the soonest you can start bugging them for it. Early the morning of the two week time limit, he was on the phone. That passport was in his hands one week before he was to leave, but he still had to send it to Washington, DC, to get his visa. What a nail biter that was! It came back from the Ghanian embassy the day before they were to leave!! It cost us a small fortune in overnight charges, both ways!

The big hold-up is due to the new restrictions traveling to Canada and Mexico, requiring a passport. So many had applied for passports they finally had to loosen that a little; folks traveling to those countries at least must have proof of having applied for a passport, along with picture ID, at least for the summer.

    I hope yours comes sooner.

I can tell you that my husband makes fun of me because I am a Duke fan. He has learned to hold his tongue now.

Just keep watching John Wayne movies and eventually he's got to see the light, and come over to our side!

We are glad you have found us. As Keith says, you will find a real friendly bunch here, with hardly ever a troll to be found. We hope you will stay and give us a chance to become better acquainted.

I just wanted to add my bday to your great list. I fall into the younger, but not youngest catagory. I was born in '77 and grew up on JW movies. I can think of few things better than spending a Sat. or Sun. with a JW marathon on the tv.

    okiedokie,

We see that you joined back in July, shortly after I had emergency surgery, and somehow we missed welcoming you to this great message board! We're glad to see you making your mark here :D .

It's good to see that John Wayne appeals to younger folks as well as us "oldsters" .
