I think he did "Norwood" shortly after True Grit-I've never seen it tho. It's hard to believe a director would risk sabotaging(sp?) his own film just because he didn't like one of the actors-especially a high profile film like this one. he could just as easily had the script rewritten to kill him off (Trini lopez anyone?).
