It is Hard to Beleave that Ron Howard was that was the little Guy Opie Grew Up and is Now One Of The Biggest People in Films !!!

Here is what Pat Stacy had to say about the Manuscript "Beau John" and later put it in Her book "Duke: a Love Story."
Pat said that Duke had come across a Story that had not been Published yet and He liked the Story so much that he had "Batjak" buy it before it had been Proofed. <_<
"Beau John" was about a small town Kentucky life back in the 1920s and liked the Story Very Much. After working with Ron Howard in "The Shootist" he said that it had a Great Part for Ron and Himself. He thought a great deal about Ron Howard after working with Him.
Duke said that it Might even get Ron and Himself a Oscar nomination!
This was not to be, but Duke had started making plans to Go into Production with the Story and had already talked to Ron Howard about it. He said to Ron, "Just You and Me Kid." As far as I can find out "Batjak" still has the Manuscript and has not been Published yet. Batjak of course is now Controlled by Gretchen Wayne, Mike Wayne's Widow, so I would not look for it to be made into a Film in the Near Future!!!
