Hi,
Bobby 'Vee ''Rubber Ball' Vinton,
only made 6 movies as an actor,
and 2 of those were with Duke
The Train Robbers http://www.dukewayne.com/showthread.php?t=2738 (1973) .... Ben Young
Big Jake (1971) .... Jeff McCandles
In the 60's/70's, Michael Wayne thought it
a good marketing idea,
to cast pop singers, in Duke's films,
in an attempt to lure, younger audiences.
However, unlike Ricky Nelson, and Fabian, who were pretty poor,
Bobby, I thought, acted well in his parts.
It never did explain in Big Jake, what happened to him!!
He got shot, and then disappeared, Where??
Many members now think, this is because of
cuts in the original film!
Hey buddy, you've got your Bobby's mixed up. Bobby Vinton and
Bobby Vee are two different singers. Vinton had such hits as, Blue Velvet, Roses Are Red, Blue On Blue, Mr. Lonely and, of ocurse, Melody of Love. Vee on the other hand had such hits as Rubberball, The Night Has A Thousand Eyes, Take Good Care of My Baby, Sharing You, Punish Her, etc. Both very good artists but, with a bit different style in music. It's easy to mix them up or think they're the same guy. Both had last names that began with a V and were popular during the same era. I think Vee had more hits but a shorter career and Vinton had more NO.1's and is still active as a singer. Don't hear very much about Vee anymore.
