A beautiful area to be sure, Mr Brother and his family live just east of the town of Truckee. Many times in the winter it can be the coldest location in the continental US, with snow drifts 20 feet deep. Burrr.
There many areas around there where one could be lost in the snow, never to be seen again. But Great skiing!

Yes, these very distinctive rocks at Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park seem to show up in many a movie, TV show or commercial. I've gotten to where I'm almost looking for them to show.
I suspect the fee the County charges (low) may inter into the picture also.

Keith, Thanks for bringing this back to the top, as we know there is an interest in knowing these locations. Especially from visitors from different lands. Would love to visit some of them ourselves, if we only had more time, and with gas prices the way they have gotten, a bit pricey.
