    Hi Stumpy,

I haven't gone through and read all the posts about your problem, so I am not sure if you have done this step or not, but wanted to ask.

Did you go and delete the cookies for dukewayne.com or did you just delete you browser history?

Just in case, to delete the cookies for dukewayne.com open firefox, select tools, select options, select privacy, select show cookies, scroll down until you see dukewayne.com, select the folder and click remove cookie.

After that make sure you have cookies enabled, go to dukewayne.com and log in, selecting the remember me check box.

I am almost positive that your site cookie is corrupted.

I tried Chrome a while back, was still in beta... heck don't know could still be in beta... anyway, I did not like it at all, here's why...

First, it took over my system like AOL stuff does. After I installed it I could not get my system to revert to FireFox as my primary browser. Also after uninstalling I had to go into the registry to delete any instance that was left. I was just a big pain in the backside.

Second, I develop web applications and websites. Chrome just did not have the tools I need to do my job. Which made point one even more frustrating...

Third, I have tried other Google apps and just plain don't like most of them. Some of them are cool, at first, but I just don't like most of them.

the only way to get rid of it is to go into safe mode and delete the files. Then after reboot do a regedit and remove every key that references zonealarm.

It's a pain, but from what I have seen it's the only way.

    Hope that helps....

Does it still read other CD's? If it's just not playing music, then it's your player not you drive. It sounds like the registry for the player is messed up.
Here's a couple of things to try...

If you haven't added a lot of new information, try doing a system restore to a time when you KNEW everything worked and see what happens.

The other thing to do is boot into safe mode and uninstall the media player. Then reboot normally and reinstall. Windows seems to do a better job of deleting things in safe mode.. don't know why.

Anyway there's a couple of things to try...

But since erthomp143 guessed your error before you gave it he must have more knowledge on this problem.

    Nope just a lucky guess...

There's lot's of help out there if you Google the error code... Most of it seems to deal with network issues but try a few of the suggestions, you can't break it more than it already is...

The thing to remember about Sbybot and Adaware is that they don't load on bootup, you need to run them. Just having them on your system will not do anything for you... of course you could schedule a task for them to run... That's what I like about them and disliked about spy doctor and defender, they are always running mucking with crap when I don't want them too...

I don't know about SUPERantispyware, but I do know that SB search&destroy doesn't catch everything so I also run Adaware these two together catch most everything. I was also running spy doctor for a while, you can get it from Google, but it was to invasive.

yes there is a windows version of Safari. There is also Opera, Netscape 8 (I think thats the newest one), Konqueror and many many more....

I doubt that it was your browser, my guess is that your ISP was having some issues.

yeah I don't have mine running all the time, I just use them to scan my system once a month. If your careful about downloading files and the sites you go to, you really don't need them running 24/7... just set aside some time once a month and run them and you will be fine.

I use Spybot Search and Destroy, AdAware, PC Doctor (from Google) and AVG for anti-virus and spyware. I use these because there are no free versions of these that catch all the bad stuff, but with these I catch 98% of what a program I would pay for would.

As to your question on the others, well I never heard of them so I am not much help there... but there are a bounch of so called free spybot killers out there that are themselfs spybots... so be careful...
