    And that's a wrap folks!!

Hide your wallets and get ready for a ride down taxation boulevard!! God help us and I pray that we make it out of this mess in 4 years.......Gees, people are sheep!!! But most of all I pray for the troops overseas and especially the one's in Iraq.

Miss him? It's been all downhill for Republicans since his departure from office. The two "Republican" presidents who came after him have, IMO, been total disasters and I see that others agree with me.

I miss him dearly. And I don't want to sound like a gushy, sappy, fanboy. I was in the Navy from 1984-89 and aside from him being "my" commander and chief at the time, I had nothing but respect for him, his values and the things he did as a president. Miss him?? Hell yeah I do, I think if we found a person to embrace what he was from the republican party, they would never loose another election.

    MISS HIM?

This is a perfect example of the type of individual who will be running our country. Scary, isn't it?

Your link doesn't work Stumpy, atleast for me it didn't.

I won't say that I am happy about how this election and the campaign's is turning out. The damn media should be ashamed of itself for taking sides and then forcing there views on a public that is running scared right now, either from the economy worries or the terrorism threat, ect.... I think more then the Democrats, that the elite media in this country are the real axis of evil!!

Well, Todd, you can be optimistic if you want but to me, the thought of the most far-left government in American history is very depressing.

And say what you will but I place all the blame on George W. Bush for this turn of events. He has governed so badly that the Republican "brand" may never recover. He has totally thrown away everything that Ronnie Reagan ever stood for.

Stumpy, I think its just the fact that I have alot of things to live for rightnow. And with kids that are 7 years old, all I have to be optimistic for the future.

I agree with everything you say, but I also tend to think that most people are not bad, just easily infulenced. So, we may swing to the left on this election, but the truth with come out and the pendulum will go the other direction after that.

I don't think that the fools running the democtratic party sre doing this because they think its right, they are doing it for there benefit only.

Yep, Chuck, America is getting ready to commit national suicide. Poor descendants............

Wow, that dude is depressing. I mean I agree with all his points but he sounds like he is going to commit suicide himself. If it happens, Obama being the president, I just hope to keep my head up and press forward. In the end people will see through the deciet and lies that have been thrown about by Obama and his campaign and then we can throw the bums out once and for all. I guys you could call me a optimist, sorry.

Unfortunately, this describes a large percentage of the American electorate. I've read that only 20 or 30 percent can name their congressional reps (Senate & House members). And yet these ignoramuses are voting into office the people who will govern all of us. I personally think everyone should have to pass a political literacy test before they're allowed to vote.

That would mean that everyone that registered at a ACORN site wouldn't be able to vote!!!

Check out this ACORN company for voter fraud. There are now like 10-15 states checking them out for voter fraud. It was on the Minneapolis-St.Paul news tonight. Guess who has connections to ACORN???

    Todd,
You're one of my favorite people on the board so please don't let what I'm about to say hurt your feelings. But as the board's unelected language coach, I can no longer remain silent.

You need to study the dictionary spellings and definitions of "there", "their" and "they're", old buddy.

It doesn't offend me.....sometime's I get into typing a topic and I forget that I am on a message board and not texting on my damn Blackberry!!

Now check this out if you want to read alittle on the bailout and a possible idea on how it happened.

Hello and welcome Maureen. Glad you found us and you are more then welcome to join in anywhere.

I think the very worst thing that has ever happened to this country (and from what I read, the UK also) is illegal immigration and "diversity and multiculturalism". In an earlier age, almost all immigrants to America made efforts to assimilate and adapt their culture to America's. That is no longer true, neither in America or Great Britain. As a result, both countries are becoming Balkanized, which eventually will cause a great deal of strife, just as in the Balkans.

Diversity and multiculturalism is truly the downfall of this society. People don't understand that when you let people "be who they are" all the time you sometimes go down a path that you will no longer come back from. We as a country(USA) cannot allow people to come to this country and let them make policy or law because that's the way they did it in there country. If you left that country it must have been for a reason, don't come here and hide behind our existing laws and try to act the same way you did in your old country. You want to come to America? Then come and be an American!! No more of this mexican-american, japanese american, ect.... You didn't see our ancestor's coming here and calling themselves norwegian-american's or german-americans. They were just plain Americans. Sure they brought with them things from there culture but they put an effort into being a American because they came here to make a better life. Now we have spineless politicians and judges who don't want to affend anyone so they tell us we need to embrace these people while they tear down the very things all the immigrants from the last 100+ years have built up.

Sorry, but like Stumpy, I get alittle fired up on these types of issues.

What does it tell you when two of the worst presidents in our nation's history are voted into office (as seems very likely) following the terms of two presidents named Bush. To me, that signifies that the Bushs' governance was so inept that voters sought something radically different.

I know that I, a lifelong conservative Republican, tend to agree with the Democrats assessment of our current president as one of the worst ever. And his old man wasn't a helluva lot better.

Stumpy, can you imagine what a democrat president would have done during the last 8 years? I mean, this current Bush president has had to deal with alot of issue's. He has had alot on his plate. I am not making excuses for him but it would have been interesting to see how someone else would have handled the situation.

IMO, this news story spotlights the fuzzy political thinking of the idiot voters in this country.

It makes absolutely no sense at all to have doubts about Sarah Palin's executive experience level, while giving a complete pass to that of Barack Obambi, who has less than four years experience in the U.S. Senate, with no legislative accomplishments at all. Furthermore, the U.S. Senate is definitely not a satisfactory venue for training potential presidents.

I agree Stumpy. But you and I both also know that alot of people vote with there hearts instead of there heads. And some even vote with the head that they "sit" on!!

If any of you watched the debate last night I have one observation among many other's but this one stood out to me.

Obama kept saying that we need to change the world's perception of the US and he sounds like he wants to do that by changing our philosphies and how we do things. To me, America has always been a leader or a Father/mother if you will. If the childern(non super powers, 3rd world countries, ect...And that is not meant as a slam on any of them) are now going to dictate or tell the parents how things should be, then what do you have? Bedlam!! We need to stick to our plan's and continue to make our views known and hold people to the fire!! Not placate to a bunch of whining countries who don't play by the rules.

Typical liberal reasoning - whites don't want to vote for Obambi because of his skin color. Never mind that his ideology bears a close resemblance to that of Karl Marx.

For myself personally it is not the color of his skin. That, I think, is brought up everytime by the liberals who want to point it out and use it as a reason to dislike a person or party. If the people of different skin color really looked at how they are used, they should be outraged. One problem that this country has is that we are divided into classes by the media and sometimes the liberals and if we would just call everyone of us Americans we could move on past the petty name calling. We are all Americans, regardless off skin color, ethinicity, ect.....

And as far as Obama is concerned, you guys are right, his policies and views on life are scary. I think he would be a bit too much at this time for the country and the world.
