I applaud your use of "we as Americans". The politicians have forgotten that we are first and foremost AMERICANS, then conservative, liberal, Republican or Democrat or Bull Moose party. If they would all put aside their partisan agendas and focus on the good of the country we would all be better off.

Just heard that David Petraeous has resigned from the CIA due to an extra marital affair with his biographer. Strange that this happened less than one week before he was scheduled to testify about the Libya mash up. As of now, he has declined to testify but may be subpoenaed down the road.
Also found it strange that the attack on one of our drones in neutral air space occurred on 11/1/12 but wasn't divulged until yesterday.
Was someone trying to get re-elected at the expense of the country?

I have to speak up for my friend Carl. We've corresponded for a couple years now and, although we've never met, I believe I know quite a bit about him.
He's about the kindest person I know. Despite his own medical problems, he reaches out to people in need. He went to extreme efforts to assist a veteran being ignored by the "system". He fetches groceries and runs errands for elderly neighbors despite the fact that he doesn't drive.
He is proud of his heritage and is a true patriot. To suggest that he would endorse slavery is both ridiculous and insulting.

Looks like Obobo got re-elected since Ohio has just been called. I considered posting this on the R.I.P. page because this is the death of the USA.
I am now beginning to believe that the Mayan calendar may be correct about the end of the world in December. Think I'll hold off on my Christmas shopping.

I'm not that convinced, although I agree about the minority votes, but I had already conceded them to Obama.
Ryan shifts the focus back to the economy and the Dems' recent use of diversionary tactics from that topic are somewhat nullified. If they keep hammering Obama's dreadful record over the next three months it may convince some undecided voters to vote on the issue rather than the "rock star".
Also, I think that Ryan may be more of a boost to women. He's young and an apparently great husband and father and I'd certainly like to see him debate Biden.
The decision is made and all I can do is support it.

It wouldn't be a close race if Mitt stuck to the economy circling the toilet drain, the unacceptable unemployment rate and the price of a gallon of gas.
Barack has no record to stand on. As far as his main claim to fame of pulling the trigger on Bin Laden, it just shows that he will kill to be re-elected.

What irks me (today, anyway) is that the POTUS has already started his re-election campaign on our dime. He also has released 30,000,000 barrels of oil from the federal reserve (at a time when oil prices are marginally starting to decline) for his own political well being. Yet he still panders to his left wing base by refusing to drill, thus creating new American jobs.
It is also a purely political move on his part to start troop withdrawals from Afg. when his military advisers think it's too soon. He wants to be able to say that he ordered the withdrawal next campaign season.
Whoever runs against him can now cite his sorry record, unemployment, the economy and his broken promises from the last campaign (remember transparency?).

What nonsense. Any sensible employer would never had hired anyone who had made such a request during the job interview. What about the students she teaches? Do they get a sub for the balance of the year?
It's probably because of this job that she can finally afford to make the trip.
Holder should pick his battles better. Is this really one of the pressing issues for the Obama administration?

I live in New York State, home of the most dysfunctional, thieving, hypocritical, ego-maniacal hacks to ever disgrace one State. They can never vote on a budget in a timely manner; they have the utmost disdain for their constituents and all they do is line their own pockets as quickly as possible.
We can boast of former Gov Spitzer and his high priced hooker; his incompetent successor who was fined for putting the arm on free Series tickets; Charlie Rangle, who should be ashamed to show his face in public; Eric Massa, founder of the all male tickle party; Chris Lee, who just resigned for soliciting on Craig's list; and the fawning Charles Schumer. God help anyone standing between him and a camera.
Locally, our police chief was sent to prison for covering up the drug fueled accidents and rapes committed by his officers.
These public officials have one common denominator - a sense of entitlement. They have no sense of serving the dopes who elected them.

I'm not a historian or a political pundit by anyone's standards, but I have to say that the passing of Obamacare yesterday ranks alongside 12/7 and 9/11 as days that our country was betrayed.
But this time, the betrayal was by our own Executive and Legislative branches of government.
From a candidacy based on half truths, broken promises, voter fraud and outright lies, our arrogant Commander in Chief has ignored the will of the people to ram this outrage down the throats of the working class. He did so with backroom politics and bribery and assisted by that vapid harpy Pelosi; the feeble minded Harry Reed; Biden, a village idiot; and Eric Holder, a grossly incompetent shyster. I should also give "credit" to court jester Robert Gibbs.
As Sean Connery's character says in "The Untouchables" - that's the Chicago way.
But unlike Michelle Obama I'm still proud to be an American.
