His rendition of "Take me out the the Ballgame" during the 7th innning stretch at home games was truly priceless!!

I remember that too. I saw many Cubs games on WGN - Chicago, while waiting for the game to end so I could see whatever movie was to be shown afterwards. I never was much of the type to watch games on TV but, He and the Gary Cooper sound-a-like on WTBS-Atlanta, both were great to listen to.

I don't remember the exact year this particular game was played but, I remember staying up late with my Dad, to watch a Braves game-which had gone into an amazing amount of overtime. Neither one of us cared much for the game itself, but to see a game go into so many extra innings; we had to see this one. I think this game was played somewhere in and or bewtween the years of: 1986 to 1988. I know it was played before my Dad passed away, just can't remember how long before?

Anyway, ""Gary Cooper"' was one of the announcers at that game. And that was one heck of a great ballgame.

Thanks May, Jay, I never heard anything announced about his passing away? I guess that wouldn't be unusual for me not to hear somehting like that because of the job I had at that time-and having very little time for wathcing the TVor listening to a radio.

    Well rats. :-((

    Rest in Peace Harry.

Im not much of a baseball fan, since I played for the Bulldogs many years ago. But, I remember that the Chicago Cubs had an announcer I think by the name of: Harry Carey. I enjoyed watching and listening to the games he announced. My question on him is, is he still announcing games for the Cubs?

Also, and Kevin or GT might know this one (im hoping) I remember watching many an Atlanta Braves game - while waiting for a good movie to start on WTBS. I remember there was an announcer who announced the games there but I do not know his name. Anyway, what really struck me at the time was, that this guy sounded to me exactly like Gary Cooper! Is this guy still announcing the Braves games?

I used to watch Baseball on the tube a lot back in the 70's and 80's but gradually weaned myself from baseball and now only watch moments here and there; during the World Series.

However, I do like watching the Tour of California and Tour de France races as well as any off-road racing and races held in Monte Carlo.

Also, I don't know if it is only a rumor or not but, I heard that Lance Armstrong was going to race in this years Tour de France.
