You guys can complain and lament, but for now Texas is Number One!!!!

If I may shift gears here, did anybody catch the ending to the Atlanta/Chicago game today....man what an end to a great game.
There were a lot of upsets and last minute game-changing scores in both professional and college games this weekend. -
Last night's game between the Cowboys and Eagles was a very exciting one. The lead kept changing hands throughout the night, but the Cowboys won out! If Philadelphia had had a few more minutes on the clock, they would have regained the lead.
When they face each other again in December, that should be another shootout! -
This gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "defensive struggle".
During my 60 plus years of following football, I've never before heard of a game with a score like this - one field goal and one safety. Amazing!
I remarked to my wife last night that the score sounded like they were playing baseball. -
Can you imagine the first game of the season and its the Vikings at Lambeau field and here comes Favre runnign out onto the field in Viking purple??? The Packer fans would be drinking so much beer and passing out they wouldn't make it through the 1st quarter.........
That would be a sight to see!!! All those cheeseheads drooping in the stands. -
I think as football season approached, he started yearning to get back in the huddle - football was all he lived for and he realized he had put it aside for ???.
Actually I thought he had made a good choice on retiring - he was getting on in years and he was going out with one of the best seasons he had ever! -
Well - the football camps are back in session and pre-season games are just around the corner. The situation with Farve is becoming a circus!

Dang, I guess I'm the only one rooting for the Pats.
Go Patriots!!
I'll be rooting for the Pats as well!

I can't believe the Giants won!!!!
-
The temp in New England will be a little better, but still cold. The players at both games better don their long johns.
Cheers - Jay -
I have no vested interest in this game, my team lost, so I don't really care, but like to see the Patriots loose, just because I am tired of hearing how they are dominating the game. And the over rated Brady.
Cheers
I think it is human nature to diss perfection, simply because it is near unobtainable. It's OK to seek perfection, but achieving it amounts to seeming to be better than one's peers.
So much for Philosophy 101!!!

saw terell owens crying. telling everyone he loves his QB. tell that to garcia & mcnabb. way to go giants you made my day.

Well, Jay, looks like the Cowboys have the same problem as my Sooners. They do well in the regular season but when it really counts, they choke.
If the Cowboys kept playing the way they did in the first half, they would have won this. But the Giants came out firing on all cylinders in the second half and didn't give Romo any time to set up in the pocket.
Looks like I'm rooting for the Packers next week.

I don't remember a game starting out clear and ending up covered with comparitively thick snow. Green Bay, I think, was more used to that type of weather than Seattle.
Stumpy - I'm old enough to remember the"Ice Bowl" and was heartbroken when Green Bay won at the very end. Was one of the best games ever! I don't know if officials would even let teams play in that cold of weather now.

I was rooting for LSU too! The first few minutes of the game, it looked like Ohio State was going to run all over them, but then LSU started clicking and that was all they rote.
Cheers - Jay -
I never root for Oklahoma - They are Texas' big rivals. I have to say that West Virginia looked awesome!
Cheers - Jay -
gt - your dawgs looked awesome! I was rooting for Hawaii myself - my wife's mother was from there - and we had been following their progress through the season. Looks like they just went flat on this occasion. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Cheers - Jay -
I caught part of it. I was mainly watching the AlamoBowl with Penn State and Texas A&M. Normally I would root for A&M, but because it was a special time for Paterno and it was the 500th game he coached, I went the other way.

I am just happy that Detroilet is out......especially after Kitna said they would win 10 plus wins.
Kitna is just another loudmouth!!!

Go Vikings, 5 in row!!!
I think we are just pretenders but its nice to see them doing better after the way the season started....
Yeah, Todd, but look how many teams this Viking win took out of the Wild Card race!
