Well, the Bulldogs took care of business this week, but the Falcons lost one they should have won. Not one, but TWO missed field goals and guess what, we lost by 6 points. Needless to say, he has been cut and we've brought back Morten Anderson. Also, we seem to have reached an agreement with former Jaguars QB Byron Leftwich so I'm anxious to see how he does.

On another note, Jay, your Texans are at 2-0 and looking very good, buuuut, ya'll better bring it Sunday cause you got the Super Bowl champs to deal with!!!!!!!

    I feel your pain Bill.

How can every team I cheer for lose??? First of all my Bulldogs lose again to that sorry Spurrier. Then the Falcons didn't even show up to play the Vikings.

Jay, remember what I told you about Matt Schaub? You guys are 1-0 with a won over the Kansas City Chiefs. I may become a Texan fan myself.

Lastly, with all of this going on, has anyone heard the news about the Patriots?????

Can you feel it? Only one day left until the Saints meet the Colts!!!!:hyper:

Gotta also give props to the Georgia Bulldogs as they took care of business against a good Oklahoma State team. Georgia Tech looked good as well as they beat Notre Dame by 30 points!!!! Two powerhouses from the same state this year? We'll see!!!!

Sunday, my Falcons will face the Minnesota Vikings. I just wish I had more confidence in my team, but, well, let's see what happens.......:martini_shaken:

I happen to agree with you. Cris Carter, Randy Moss, Jake Reed. Cunningham had his choice of receivers to go to and I also thought that Green played it just a bit too conservative, but if Gary Anderson hadn't missed that field goal at the end of the game (he had not missed one all year if my memory serves me correct) you guys would have faced the Broncos. BTW, you think your team could've beat that Bronco team?

Not to mess with you Viper, but perhaps the best game I have ever seen was the championship game between the Falcons and the Vikings. Now that was a nail biter all the way through. If anyone had told me that we would win that game with all the firepower you guys had, I would have just laughed. I think I cussed my Falcons to win in that game!!!!:tooth: Yup, had to clean out my mouth after that game.

Well, for us Falcon fans, things just keep going from bad to worse. Vick has his problems so there goes our starting QB, now I guess I'll hafta support Harrington and now Shockley is out for the year so as far as I know, we only have 2 QB's to start the season with. Maybe I'll just stick with college football for one year.

Jay, I felt the same way 2 years ago when we had to play Boise State. Everybody was bragging about that high powered offense that they had and I was like, oh heck, we ain't got no business playing those guys and look what happened. We annihilated them. Me personally, and I know others will disagree with me here, but IMO, the SEC is the toughest conference to be in. I mean, just look at the teams that are here. Florida (national champs) Tennessee, LSU, Auburn, South Carolina (with the ol' ball coach) and of course my Georgia Bulldogs. So now I no longer dread those games because I think we're as good as any other team out there and I can't wait for that game.

Hey, gt - my wife and I are big football fans - both college (being from Texas one has to be) and NFL. My favorites are Texas and Texas A&M on the collegiate side and the Cowboys (of course) who had their summer camp here at the Alamodome.
    Cheers - Jay:beer:

Hi Jay, same here, I enjoy both college and pro. Georgia Bulldog fan here and to a lesser extent, I'm also a Georgia Tech fan as well. What I really like about the Bulldogs is that each year, we seem to be playing a team out of the SEC. Two years ago, we played Boise State, last year, I think it was Colorado, and this year, our first game will be against one of your rivals...Oklahoma State.

Some of my Georgia buddies don't wanna see this game take place, they think we'll get our butts kicked, but I welcome the challenge. I wanna see what my team is made of right out of the gate. That way, I know whether or not I can hold my head high, talk my trash, or just humbly bow out of any conversation about college football.

Yeah, I agree. I knew you guys were gonna get better when you got McNair. The defense was already in place and the only thing ya'll lacked was the quarterback. That being said however, it's really tough being in the same conference as Indy, New England, San Diego, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh.....the last two being in the same division and playing them twice a year. Any team getting through the playoffs in the American league deserves a Super Bowl victory. Man is it stacked over there.
