Congrats to the Auburn Tigers on the national championship. Even though I'm a Georgia fan, I'm also an SEC fan and it's good to see the championship come to the SEC again.

Well my Ga Dawgs didn't have the best of years this year but we have at least made it to a bowl game and I think we will have a much better team next year.......In other news, my falcons have a chance to clinch home field IF we beat the saints Monday night. Go Falcons!!!!!

High School Football starts this week; college next week; and I think the Sunday during Labor weekend is the NFL. What a great land we live in. I can't wait. By the way, the champion's challenge in Alabama took place last weekend, and my high school played and well they won. Didn't count but they wiped out the other team.

I have one playing varsity this year and his first game is Friday night. I can't wait for that one. BTW, did anyone catch my Falcons Friday? That offense looks scary good. This is one season I can't wait for. -

I just gotta
this one back up. My falcons take the field this Saturday at 4 pm (est). This is the first time in a long time that I truly am excited about the ATL taking the field this year.
On another note, if there are any eagle fans here, you have JUST signed Michael Vick to a 2 year deal. Just to let you know. GO FALCONS!!!!! -
A better game than I could have imagined. When Fitzgerald got that touchdown, I yelled (and woke up the kids who had school today). But I knew that Arizona had left too much time on the clock. But with Blitzburg's defense, I'm actually surprised that Warner nearly passed for 400 yards (I think it was actually 377). Ah well, here's to the Falcons next year.

Hondo, I don't much care for the Steelers either, but that defense is one to be reckoned with. I have betted (not for money) against the Cardinals ever since they clinched a playoff berth. My Falcons had then against the ropes and let it get away. Arizona has proven me wrong for 3 weeks in a row and I hope they keep winning as I am for the NFC.

Today's the big day....the NFC vs. the AFC. Who do you think is gonna win? I think Pittsburgh will win their 6th Superbowl. What do the rest think?

Hi, gt - though I am a Big 12 advocate, I feel Texas should be here in the BCS Championship game, not Oklahoma, which I am watching at the end of the first quarter, therefore I'm rooting for Florida.
That's why there should be a playoff system somehow, someway in college football. Last year, I don't think any college team could have topped my Dawgs, but that's how the college games are played.
Dukefan1, that's gonna be a very interesting game this weekend between the Ravens and the Steelers and no offense, but it seems like Pittsburgh has Baltimores number when it comes to playoff games. But I will cheer for the rookie QB as I have done all year ala Atlanta. -

Can anyone please explain to me how Joe Flacco, who lead the Ravens (who were 5 - 11 last year) to an 11-5 regular season record in his rookie year, didn't get any votes for Rookie of the Year? And I mean NONE! Not one vote. And he just became the first rookie to ever win an away playoff game. I understand that Matt Ryan had a great rookie campaign also, but to receive NO votes at all? Mystifying!

So much football right now...dukefan, I cannot answer your question, but I did follow both QB's this year and as far as I am concerned Matt and Joe should have gotten equal votes....even though I am kindly partial to Mr. Ryan
Needless to say....both the QB and RB from my dawgs will be going pro next year so where does that leave my college team? On another note...I'm especially proud of by Falcons this year and here's looking forward to an excellent 2010.
Now, on to the next game on my agenda.... the national championship game is tonight and as much as I hate Florida, I just gotta cheer for the SEC so I'll be doing that Gator clap tonight. And for any Oklahoma fans here, I heard a sports reporter out of Dallas earlier (who is for the Sooners) sing an old Grass Roots tune which goes....Sooners over Gators we're gonna getcha.... -

For the first time in awhile, OU will play Nebraska Saturday. The Cornhuskers ain't what they were when Tom Osborne was coaching them. (Thank goodness)
I think you could have crossed your fingers, toes and the line but there was nothing we could have done about that a** whoopin' we toted today. I actually left the house after the first quarter cause I was not gonna be good company as this game was going on. Ah well, there's next year. -
Pro football is okay but for true excitement and spectacle, Keith, you should see a college game between two good teams. After all, the pros are only playing for money but the college kids are playing for honor and school glory. For instance, if you ever get a chance, be sure to watch the Oklahoma-Texas game, which is always played at Dallas during the Texas State Fair. Now that is a game [usually] worth watching.
Well another game that I hope will be worth watching is the Georgia/Florida game this Saturday on that neutral site in JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA. (sigh) -
Stumpy, I yelled at that defense all afternoon. If they play like that against Florida next week it's gonna be ugly.

The thing that bothers me most about the OU-Texas rivalry is that for almost a century, the game has been played in Dallas which, as you know, is in Texas. They call it "neutral" territory because it's about equidistant between the two college campuses. Neutral, my butt. IMO, you can't have a "neutral" game site if it's played in the same state each and every year. Especially if that state is Texas.
For many years, I've written the athletic department at OU urging them to go to a home-and-home schedule with Texas, playing on each school's home field in alternating years. But the poohbahs in Dallas have made it so profitable for both schools to continue playing there that OU refuses to change the current arrangement.
Stumpy, I feel your pain about that neutral site. The Georgia/Florida rivaly also happens to be on a neutral site....IN JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA. And I also agree about there needs to be a playoff in college football. Last year I honestly felt we had the best team in the nation, but we didn't get a shot.
If I may shift gears here, did anybody catch the ending to the Atlanta/Chicago game today....man what an end to a great game. Matt Ryan seems like he will be a great QB. -
Hi Stumpy, I'm not an OU hater. I just cheer for my home team. I will watch the OU, Texas game tomorrow, unless my DAWGS are on. I hope that your team wins and who knows, maybe we'll get the chance to play each other later on. Crazier things have happened. Oh, BTW, like the new avatar.
