Yes, it keeps getting delayed. For no known reason. From what I have read and heard, Axl is a eccentric SOB and he basically drove out the original band members Slash, Duff, Matt Sorum, and Izzy. Steven Adler(original drummer) was kick out cause he couldn't kick the drugs, Izzy(original rythum guitar) quit because he couldn't take being around the band and all the drugs, Gilby Clark(took Izzy's place) left when all the other's left because Axl was basically a tyrannt. Dizzy is still with the band but he was brought in to play keyboards during the Use Your Illusion records, so I don't count him as original. Kind of said since they were so popular and seems Axl has messed up a good band. I hope this Album is worth it. One of the new songs is going to be in the new Rock Band video game coming out next month. The song is called "Shackler's Revenge". I have not heard it myself, so I cannot comment on it yet.

G N R were awesome. I am starting to hear rumblings again of the new album, "Chinese Democracy", that it might get released. Should be quit interesting to see why Axl break up one of the best bands in the buisness to make this album.

And he had this to say about John Wayne. Billy Idol sounds like a alright guy in my book.

Of his new song “John Wayne,” Idol says, “When I'm singing it, I'm thinking about the characters John Wayne played. They were usually men with a flaw in their character or something dark in their past they're trying to rise above before the end of the movie. So it's not about the kick-in-the-door John Wayne or the barroom fight John Wayne -- it's more the man who overcomes.”

Well, I was going through some of my website's that update info on artist's from the 80's rock and there was a segment on Billy Idol releasing a 2 disc set. So I went to his myspace page and low and behold there was a new song he has on the new album called John Wayne. Its not all that hard of a song and I actually really like it. Here is a link to his myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/billyidol Let me know what you think.

Keith, I believe it came out in 1959. My dad was sure happy to get it. He has the vinyl 33 rpm LP and I remember listening to it when I was a kid. But he has no player to play it on. Plus now he can listen to it while in the car. I would recommend it to anyone here as it sure does conjure up some images of the old west while listening to it. I found mine on EBay for $9.00 plus $4.00 shipping.

I just purchased a new cd for my dad and it fit's in nicely for the forum here.

Its called Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs by Marty Robbin's. Some memorable songs from the album are Big Iron and El Paso.

Hey gt, I was going to get ahold of you. I picked it up on Tuesday as well. Fun to hear the old sound. Its classic Whitesnake, just the way I like it!!!!

Look for Def Leppard's new one next Tuesday as well.

I just picked up the new Alan Jackson cd. Good cd and nice to hear the "old" Alan after his previous album. My wife liked that one but I just couldn't get into that one. This is more my style, "Good Times"!!!!!!!!

I was listening to some Airbourne the other day SXViper, it was great! I'm surprised I hadn't heard of them before, being Aussies.

    Anyway
I'm listening to Two Pina Coladas by Garth Brooks.

Yup Bek, straight ahead rock and roll. No weird rap stuff mixed in, just like AC/DC. Good stuff.

I know Bek love's country but I just picked up on another rock band with a 80's sound, gt will love them. They are called "Hardcore Superstar". Here is the link to there myspace page and some music: http://www.myspace.com/hcssgbg If you want to buy the cd it is rather tough and alittle more expensive then usual as it hasn't been releast in the states yet. I did find it at Amazon.com for $17.00 pluss shipping.

there is more than an acdc influence to airbourne, their single sounds just like acdc. I heard it on the radio and had to listen hard to tell it was some one else. It seems like alot of rock music now is just a real rip off of seventies stuff. The band Jet, they had a single that sounded exactly like a guess who song (are you familiar with the guess who, up here in canada, they're still a big deal!) and another song that sounded just like iggy pop lust for life.

Right now I am listening to jungleland by bruce springsteen from born to run

I like Jet as well, not a huge fan but I liked some of there songs. I am not a very big fan of bands from the 70's, little too weird at times.

As far as Airbourne goes, they do sound alot like AC/DC but then again alot of bands in the 80's sounded alot like each other. And since AC/DC haven't come with any new material in about 8 years and there last album in a word, sucked, then I think its just great the we get this release from Airbourne.

Well I'm now listening to the remake of Back in the Saddle by Sebastian Bach and Axl Rose. Anyone remember those two?

Hell yeah, Bach from Skid Row and Axl from G n R. That is actually a pretty good remake of the song. If I remember right its from Bach's latest release "Angel Down". gt if you like that I know you will like this new band I was talking about previously that are from Australia. Check them out at www.myspace.com/airbourne or www.airbournerock.com . Ther album will be released on the 29th of this month.

Wow, that is quite a long trip then.

Back to the topic, I just picked up "The Eagles" new CD and was not impressed at the beginning but after spinning it a few times I am beginning to like it. The 2nd CD is more like the Eagles from the 70's, which is what I liked.

Smokey, have you heard of Airbourne? They are from a town called Warrnambool. How close is that to you?

Anyways, I have always liked 80's hair band rock so it nice to see a new band come out and keep the 80's rock, rolling :)
