In honor of the late great Jerry Reed (who passed away earlier this week) I'm listening to his greatest hits cd.

Thanks for reminding us of this. Jerry Reed had a natural knack for creating songs that could get your foot a'tapping and tell some interesting stories!

I don't know if anyone else does, but I like to listen to music when I'm on the computer.

I like to listen music when I'm on the computer, too, and YouTube has really expanded my horizons well beyond my CD collection to almost whatever my little heart desires. Of course, I have to interrupt my work more often to go pick a new song, but sometimes it's worth the trouble.

Tonight I am listening to Cass Elliot (aka Mama Cass, of the Mamas and the Papas. What a rich voice she had! My favorite song of hers? New World Coming, Move in a Little Closer Baby, and It's Getting Better.

It seems that some of my favorite artists died untimely deaths - Cass Elliot, Jim Croce, Karen Carpenter. Now, thanks to the internet, I can learn all kinds of things about them, long after they have died.

Sorry for the little ramble - it's an especially quiet night at home. Chester has fallen asleep, the teenagers are out for the evening, one son is at a friend's house overnight, and the grandson, who's been here for days, is back with his mom.

I am enjoying the music . . . and tooling around here.

Blake Shelton, singing "Austin" - I NEVER get tired of that romantic song!

And speaking of sweet, romantic songs - Randy Travis singing "Forever and Ever Amen" and "Deeper Than the Holler" . . . .

I know this will sound boring, but we are listening to live streaming of talk radio. It's one way for me to stay informed on local, national and world events while working in the house (or catching up on the message board).

As a side note, if anyone ever wants to hear what the weather is in our neck of the woods, just "Listen Live" to KGO 810AM at around 8:40 AM (Pacific Daylight Time, or Greenwich Mean Time -8 ). I am in daily contact with their weather man (have been for 14 years now  - he calls me). Whoever answers the phone and tells him the temp and conditions gets their name on the radio.

Anyway, looking forward to a day with mild temperatures and increasing cloudiness. There is a slight possibility of rain later in the week.

I'm listening to a major radio station in the San Francisco Bay area via live streaming. I can get the news and weather while tooling around the message board - it's one of those news/news talk stations, but between 5 and 9 AM, it's all news, sports, weather, traffic reports, and financial reports. Since I'm not using headphones, everyone in the room is listening to it by default - but they're all used to it.

Listening to Buddy Greene! Among other things, he is a harmonica virtuoso - I know that sounds corny, but he is GOOD. He also plays guitar and plays blues, gospel stuff - great entertainer that I've seen in concert quite a few times.

P.S. Ringo, the Mrs. says you almost spelled cacophony correctly !
