I take your point about not being a western in the classic form but when you think about it
does have a number of indicators pointing it in the direction of falling into western style adventure movie.
It is actually the only Bogart film I have on DVD so maybe I felt the western undercurrents. I currently have it shelved in adventure type movies but I will reclassify it as a western.
