They can't deal with society outside prison.

I wonder how many of these government types would change their tune if it was a member of their family who was murdered. I think they'd want that perpetrator strung up by the nearest tree with no thought of leniency!

it's clear to me that the wishes of the majority - at least as evidenced by the polls I saw and read about - were ignored.
A common practice with governments worldwide. -
I've read of cases in which people released from prison after serving their specified sentences going out and committing another crime just so they'll be returned to the cushy confinement they've been enjoying. Hey, three hots and a cot beat sleeping hungry on the streets.

I've always been a very strong proponent of capital punishment. An eye for an eye, says I.
